Bio
Anna Gordon is a singer-songwriter residing in Olympia, Washington.
Her songs possess a haunting quality, speaking of intimate truths
through a soft, soulful, and lilting voice with gentle plucking of
guitar strings. Her acoustic folk style is influenced by the likes of
Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Townes Van Zandt, Joanna Newsom, Elliott
Smith, and more.
At fifteen years old, she started playing shows, and hasn't stopped since. She has performed at the Northwest Folklife Festival, The Olympia Acoustic Festival, in-studio at KAOS 89.3FM Olympia, as well as nearly 100 performances across Washington and the Pacific Northwest.
What people are saying:
"It’s not often that a singer comes along whose voice soars as poignantly as her messages. Anna Gordon is a gem of a singer-songwriter with a breadth of deep, soulful ballads that are steeped in wisdom beyond her years. Her songs are her stories, and her stories are melodically told through verses that are both deeply personal and widely resonant.”
— Elijah Dhawan, Director, Seattle Acoustic Festival & Member, Northwest Folklife Board of Directors"It’s like a less than lethal dose of nightshade, a sleepless dream steeped in sanguine, with just a hint of cinnamon. Is this Olympia’s singing songwriting folk darling, or devil? Either way, we give to her our hearts and ask in return only for more."
— Gabriel Stranahan, member of Olympia based band, Fruit Juice
