Bio
Singer Anie Alert Joseph, was born in Haiti on June 6, 1992. She made her debut at the
age of six in the Adventist church She Began with gospel and religious songs, later she
developed a taste for other Haitian music.
In 2008, she participated in the Digicel Stars talent competition, launched by the
Digicel mobile phone company. She came in second place, but her experiences there sent
her on a course in the music business. Winner of the "Schoolboy Podium" in 2009, (a
contest that values the talents of young Haitian artists), she represented Haiti in numerous
other competitions. She won 1st place in "Challenge of the High School Students", which
takes place in Guadeloupe each year. A dozen candidates from all over the Caribbean
attended it.
In 2011 she was invited to perform by Yole Dérose, (Famous 80’s star) to participate
in "Haiti Coeur de Femme", which means Haiti heart of Women. This brought together
eleven female voices. As part of this project initiated by the singer Yole Dérose (wife of
the late Ansy Dérose), Anie has had the opportunity to continue working with some of
Haiti’s most renowned and professional musicians. Such musicians as Fabrice Rouzier of
(Mizik Mizik ) and guitarist Nicky Christ.
In 2013 she was invited to participate in "Vwalye" a musical project supported by the
Arcades program. This project aims to build a bridge in the Haitian music scene by
bringing together five young artists with professional guidance. It included several
activities, including creative workshops with Emeline Michel and James Germain, (two
tenors of Haitian music).
Anie Alerte has already appeared in many clubs, concerts and festivals in Haiti, the
USA and the Caribbean. She’s performed both as a solo artist and as part of the back up
singers. Anie appeared in many TV shows and interviews. Alongside heavyweights diva
Emeline Michel, James Germain, singers and guitarists Jean Belony Murat (Bélo) and
Jean Jean Roosevelt, Zouk artist Thierry Cham, Rutshelle Guillaume, and even President
Michel Martelle, (Sweet Micky).
A few recordings and collaborations of Anie’s includes "Nou Fos" ("Vwalye" album)
and "Pa pléré" a song zouk signed Medhy Custos, singer from Guadeloupe. She currently
recording an album not yet titled. Her first single should be out in spring 2016.
