BONNAROO FAVORITES ANGEL BAND TAKE TO THE ROAD - WINGED SCHOOL BUS
OPTIONAL
The Angel Band, whose third album, 'Bless My Sole,' will be released by Appleseed Recordings July 27th, will be touring through December. Voted one of the top 10 bands at Bonnaroo, the female vocal trio were the special guest of two-time Grammy winner Levon Helm at his renowned Midnight Ramble in February, kicked off David Bromberg's Big Noise in the Neighborhood Festival in May and shared the stage with Pete Seeger at the Clearwater Festival in June. "The exuberance and power in the trio's singing is overwhelming," said Americana Roots, and audiences enjoying their shows will agree. Those
who know that Angel Band "sounds more earthy than ethereal"
(PopMatters) won't be surprised that they don't arrive on wings.
However, they've been known to show up at gigs in a school bus
embellished with sequins and flying creatures by founder Nancy
Josephson, a well-known "outsider" artist whose work is featured in an exhibition in the Smithsonian.

Bio
No audience has been left unmoved by Angel Band’s all out, “take no prisoners” stage demeanor, signature rootsy, bluesy Americana songs, super back-up band and the “dig in” vocals of leader and lyricist Nancy Josephson, Kathleen Weber, and Aly Paige. Performing as opening act and backing singers for Josephson’s husband, world-class roots musician David Bromberg at Bonnaroo, Merlefest, the Philadelphia Folk Festival and other high profile events, Angel Band has been stepping out and playing many a prestigious concert venue on their own. This band is winning over many new listeners in their travels (voted one of the top 10 Favorite Bands at Bonnaroo), breaking out road-tested crowd-pleasers and singing a big new batch of original material.
