Bio
Annie Sicherman started writing songs a long time ago. For many years she endured the whims of a harsh world, and wrote her woes quietly, beautifully, in excruciating detail for no one but the bob dylan action figure on her bedroom dresser to hear.
Slowly she began letting people in, allowing one listener at a time into her world. First for her very best friend then for her second best friend, and so on until before she knew it, many people were urging her to share her delicate, wry and whip-smart tunes with the rest of the world.
Late in 2007 she formed the band Going Gone and released her debut LP Counting Sheep, partnering with Jamie Stellini (of Garlic, The Love, and The Darlings among others), David Silva (of the Ashford Brakes) and John Cutler (of the Greek Embassy). After dissolving that project in 2009, she started performing as Anchors, crafting a more intimate sound for the growing base of listeners who at this point have little to do but thank her for being brave enough to finally let them hear what has been inside her this whole time: gorgeous music.
