Kicking the mixtape off strong with “Battlefield” the intro track clearly shows everyone that Anya comes hard with her lyrics and is completely the real deal with no gimmicks, no mickey mouse lyrics. She brings just real rap to the table. Throughout Pretty Color Bad News Anya flexes her lyrical ability and her ability to adapt to any track as she shows by spiting over “John Wayne” featuring Lil Milez which is their version of Lil Wayne and Rick Ross’ “John” track. She jumps from that hardcore spitter to “Quickie” spitting over Miguel’s hit record showing she can have that sex appeal when needed.
Overall Anya put together a solid piece of work in which I feel showcased her abilities as far as lyrics and topic selection. Production wise beats were on point, Anya connected with local produces such as Kydd Jones, O.C Groceries, and E Jones.
