Instead of rushing to get an album out straight after Australian Idol, Amali Ward waited and honed her musical skills. Ward is no longer the young teenager she was back in 2004. Taking her time has paid off. Her debut EP showcases a mature pop sound. - The Sunday Telegraph

Bio
Soul music for the intelligent: influenced by the Motown era, Amali's music is timeless, drawing inspiration from artists such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson - artists that make you feel something - but Amali's charismatic vocals and lyrical delivery are undoubtedly her own. Tongue firmly in cheek, Amali's music doesn’t take itself too seriously - no gimmicks or pretension - it’s just good.
With a band comprised of some of the most sought after musicians in Australia, Amali's phenomenal live show has seen her grace the stages of Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival, Southern Roots Festival and tours with Naturally 7, Paris Wells and The Bamboos.
An accomplished, award winning songwriter, Amali has also worked with super producers Jack Splash (Alicia Keys, Cee Lo, Estelle), Cri$tyle (Rihanna, Beyonce, Mariah Carey) and Warryn Campbell (Mary Mary, Kanye West, Musiq Soulchild). 2011 saw her win the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for her song 'Knock You Out'.
November sees Amali head into the studio to record her debut album with producer David Ryan Harris, to be released early 2012.
