Bio
Alternate End is a hard-edged alternative rock band with distinct grunge and classic rock influences and an uninhibited desire to captivate audiences. With vocals that meet halfway between manic and melodic, and a signature guitar style that is equal parts vicious and mesmerizing, Alternate End has created a unique, hybrid sound that strays from the uninspired rock trends of today.
Alternate End was formed from the ashes of defunct bands and dead end musical projects in the Greater Toronto Area when Mike Bernardi (guitar) and Dave Cundari (bass) set out to assemble a four-piece band in 2006. The pieces fell into place when the two discovered musical veterans Neil Lukewich (drums) and Craig Burnatowski (vocals), and together the four began to write a debut album and perform live in April 2007.
Playing shows at Torontos premiere clubs, as well as CMW and Indie Music Week showcases, allowed the band to develop a powerful, energetic and dynamic live show that has created a buzz throughout the area over the past three years. Alternate Ends live performances set out to prove that this band is truly greater than the sum of its parts, and that songwriting is what separates this band from its peers.
Alternate End released their full-length, 11-track debut album Means to an End in April 2011 on iTunes and other digital distributers.
Shortly after the release, vocalist Craig Burnatowski parted ways with the band to pursue other endeavors. The remaining members are currently in the studio producing demo's for their next full-length release as well as seeking out a new vocalist.
