“…a beautifully orchestrated album of rich, dark, ethereal singer-songwriting that evokes the 21st century soundscapes of Radiohead” – Neil McCormick, The Telegraph - The Telegraph
“Cornish structures his songs with passion and guile, never more effectively than the closing Won’t Be Found. With a voice to stand comparison with Thom Yorke, he has what it takes to make Bellevue a global brand" - The Scotland on Sunday
Alex Cornish played a commanding set (at the Wychwood Festival) - The Independent
Cornish’s stand-out tracks, including the title song of his debut album Until the Traffic Stops, are satisfyingly refined and folksy, and blow the above-named slush-hawking artistes (James Blunt and James Morrison) out of the water. - The List
“Edinburgh resident Alex Cornish’s rousing set also proves to be a real delight. Performing in the Acoustic Tent, Cornish and his band work a set of effortlessly laid-back folkish pop songs, and even pull off some skilled trickery using a violin and a loop pedal”. - The Skinny
The Edinburgh based singer-songwriter has won praise not only for his own work, but for his clever covers as well - The Herald
His songs are beautifully structured, filled with tension and topped off with lovely little melodic flourishes which give them genuine emotional impact.

Bio
Alex Cornish is a singer songwriter from Edinburgh who has recently had two of his songs used in big American TV shows - Showtime's 'The Big C' and ABC's 'Private Practice'. Alex made both his debut and new records in his bedroom, yet in the last year or so, Alex's music has provoked the kind of tips and plays that any major release would beg for - 3 singles spending a total of 16 weeks on the BBC Radio 2 playlist, single of the Week on Radcliffe & Maconie's Radio 2 show, sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, XFM, BBC Radio Scotland, a song played over the end credits of a Hollywood film, The Sunday Times' “hottest download of the week”, "a gem" - The Telegraph, "monster choruses and 4am strings" said The Times. Alex spent 6 weeks at the end of last year on tour supporting Alison Moyet, as well as the festival circuit in the UK, two headline tours and he is just back from a tour sponsored by the Nokia Music Store of the UK. Live Alex is not to be missed with double bass, piano, violin, acoustic guitar and 4 part harmonies bringing the music to life. Alex will be playing in LA and NYC around the time of SXSW and is looking to combine the trip for meetings with music supervisors and agents.
