Bio
Alejo’s musical career began at the age of 14. He studied 3 years of music at the University of Antioquia and 4 years of composition at EAFIT University. His direct contact with Colombian Traditional Music has allowed him to find the roots of his country, the source for his artistic proposal and the inspiration for composing his songs. His lyrics are a vision of the country in the present, and with shades of hope he talks about the war, about exodus and about people’s love, dreams, searches and forgetting. His music is written using Colombian Folklore as a starting point, mixed with urban genres including Rock, Pop and Jazz, opening up horizons for F Colombia usion in and Latin America. His lyrics have stories to tell, and his songs are fresh, close and deep.
Three albums produced independently. Over 3500 copies sold. Three video clips. Special participation on records by other artists. A high level band of musicians and technical team. Over 300 Concerts and Recitals. Over 300 Press, Radio and Television appearances. His music is heard in Colombia, Cuba, Argentina, Australia.
International presentations in Buenos Aires and Miami. Concerts in the most important cities around the country: Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Bucaramanga, Cucuta, Manizales, Pereira, Pasto, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Sincelejo, Monteria, Cerete, Sogamoso, Ibague and Villavicencio.
His essence is still Colombian Folklore, but his poetry sets him apart from other musical proposals.
