Bio
Hailing from Cardiff, Aled sings in both his native Welsh and English, writing timeless songs of love, life and the city. From a classical background and a diverse range of influences, Aled has developed his own finger-picking style and, coupled with haunting vocals, his songs have been described as walking in the forest at dusk. 2013 was a busy year for Aled; not only did he release his debut EP, Ser yn Disgyn, (JigCal) to critical acclaim, but was also invited to play in the National Eisteddfod, Swn Festival and selected to play in front of the Womex delegates in Cardiff. Aled, who was recently selected for the New Sound Wales 100 as one to watch, has been described by legendary Welsh singer-songwriter Meic Stephens as having a big future ahead of him. As well as playing festival dates in 2014 (including Focus Wales), Aled is currently working on an English language follow-up to Ser yn Disgyn; due for release later in the year.
