Bio
Not quite asleep, not quite awake...the unique blend of intoxicating beats, darkwave melodies and lush ambient atmospheres from Alchemist Corpse Rite take you through the black mirror and into strange, exotic realms...
In early 2007, Alchemist Corpse Rite participated in the RPM Challenge - a creative exercise with the goal of writing and recording an album completely in the month of February. The result was "The Chemical Dream of Frater N.S." - the tale of an (al)chemically induced spiral into madness, and a skillful mix of elements from diverse styles such as trip-hop, goth folk, and dark ambient.
Seduced by the divine madness and frantic creativity of the RPM Challenge, the Rite returned in 2008 to create "The Babalon Working" - music inspired by the ritual workings and tragic life of Jack Parsons, the mid-20th century occultist and solid rocket pioneer. The album expands on the musical themes from the previous challenge, and features the beautiful voice of fellow RPM veteran Laura Aalto on the stunning "My Voice in Her Heart."
In 2009, Alchemist Corpse Rite once again returned to the RPM Challenge to produce "A True and Faithful Relation." This tribute to the Elizabethan magus Dr. John Dee takes a darker, distortion-driven turn, reminiscent of '80s goth legends such as the Sisters of Mercy or Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. Laura Aalto once again contributed vocals to a pair of tracks; "Vision in Silver" and "Vision in Gold."
Since the inception of Alchemist Corpse Rite, fan support and awareness has grown steadily. The Rite has been represented in the yearly RPM compilation projects created by the RPM community, and has recently received airplay on various college and independent stations. Alchemist Corpse Rite is currently working on their fourth full-length cd, as well as preparing for future live shows.
