Fronting ComicSol is Cleveland-born, California-bred singer/songwriter, Akia. With a playlist spanning R&B, Top 40, NeoSoul, and Blues/Jazz, Akia's sultry vocal styling is a mixture of R&B, sweetened by soul, with a splash of pop that leaves audiences thirsty for more. A consummate entertainer, when performing, her intoxicating sensuality and crowd-pleasing personality, transmits her energy and emotion like a virus. Fueled by the intense buzz she gets from performing live, Akia has headlined shows and opened for various national recording artists for over 7 years.

Formerly signed to Universal Records, Akia released an infectious anthem titled California in October 2002. California was featured on the soundtrack for Malibu's Most Wanted and created crossover buzz in western markets such as San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Fresno and Las Vegas.

Through Universal Records, Akia released her debut EP August 19, 2003, Atruprncss (pronounced A-True-Princess), featuring six tracks: I Still Miss You, Little Bit, Agenda, Pink Panties and included California, and a remix of California.

Born to musically artistic parents, it's only natural that Akia fell in love with entertaining at an early age. Her mother was a teen idol (Miss Right-On, 1973) who composed and sang solo for many years. She was offered a record contract at the age of 16! Her father is a self-trained artist who writes music, plays several instruments and performed around Cleveland in the 70's. Akia's musical prowess is a wonderful blend of both talents.

The smooth party anthem "California" is as sunny and fun as the state it name checks, and "I Still Miss You" is an agreeable breakup ballad with the singer realizing that her pink Navigator can't mend her broken heart. The sly "Pink Panties" claims to be about the popular lemonade and vodka cocktail, and when Akia throws around the double entendres like an inner city Mae West, it becomes the obvious highlight.
