Bio
Maybe you know Abbie from her hometown, a village in Illinois river country. Maybe you caught her recent appearance before the celebrity judges on Americas Got Talent. Or maybe youve seen her performing at a local coffeehouse.
Poised, talented and quirky, Abbie pairs her heartfelt songs with a rich and stirring voice that will knock you out.
Born and raised in the heart of the mid-west, Abbies passion for music was first kindled in church, memorizing hymns and making up harmonies. At home she discovered the music of her parents generation, singing along to John Denver, Roberta Flack and ABBA records.
Growing up, Abbie honed her performance skills in musical theater and a student-led band, performing almost every weekend. After high school, she studied music at Bradley University. Post-college life led Abbie to a career in marketing, but music eventually called her back.
Drawing on the influence of the music she loved, Abbie began composing original songs in 2009, and the next year she assembled a band of her friends and began playing at local venues.
Today, her sound references Americana acts like Mindy Smith, Jessica Lea Mayfield and Joy Williams, as well as rock & blues mavens like Grace Potter and Adele. She blends indie and bluegrass influences with the simple lyrics and plaintive soul of the hymns of her youth.
Now working on her first EPAbbie performs locally with a band of friends and talented musicians. When shes not singing or writing music, Abbie likes to work on her Etsy shop, drive around on back country roads and spend time with her husband and bandmate, Keith.
