Aron Lyrd is a hip new Alternative Rock singer/song writer, whose style is reminiscent of a mix between a young Mick Jagger and a 35 year old Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, with a heavy dosage of Matchbox 20s front man Rob Thomas thrown in for good measure. While Lyrd’s heavy mix of guitar riffs, lead vocals, smothered with drums within backing/supporting vocals and a music synthesizer plus turn tables balancing the sound out would be tricky for most, Lyrd does this approach with poise and charisma.
Lyrd came into the rock scene just two years ago.

Everybody loves an event ★★★☆☆
Day Dreams ★★★★½
Come Again ★★½☆☆
Beginning ★★★★☆
1. Time Goes Forward
This song has no pretenses about it! The background instrumentation is simple, the lyrics aren’t anything to write home about but that’s precisely what makes it so charming. The vocals sound straight-up, sincere and honest. It is a serenade that may win you over.
2. Psychedelic Trippy Motion
The title “psychedelic trippy motion” couldn’t be more apt. This track, which is purely instrumental, is a seamless fusion of a range of styles and instruments that go in tandem with psychedelic rock. The track feels brief but hypnotic in its appeal and the melody practically zips past you.
3. Wasted
This song takes you down a labyrinth of disillusion. Lyrd’s vocals are rugged and grow more and more aloof. The instrumentation, which is initially subtler, comes crashing down in the chorus! It’s one of those guitar-happy and instrumental-heavy choruses where the song gains footing; and there’s no going back from there!
4. Shadows on Me
A darkly romantic ballad with an addictive chorus. The instrumentation lightens up the tone of this track a good deal!
5. Made in a minute
The quintessential rock song with beats worth grooving to. ‘Made in a minute’ also has the vocals to pull it off. However, its memorability is fleeting.
6. Hey Hey
The rhythm of this track vaguely resembles Paolo Nutini’s New Shoes. A harmless, enjoyable song that would do great on the radio or as a start to the rest of the day!
7. Grassy Banks
Grassy Banks is radically different from any of Lyrd’s other tracks. The focus here is definitely more on the background instrumentation; which diverges from anything ever done by Lyrd. It’s softer, more exotic and the vocals while minimalist, effectively complement it.
8. Everybody loves an event
The guitar-dominated instrumentation gets you pumped up! However, it feels like a transitory track, with the lyrics being only moderately enticing; though the line “yeah, yeah, love’s an event” fits right in. The vocals here embody the kind of festivity-related rush referenced in this track!
9. Day Dreams
Tearing your attention away from this track is a challenge! It completely consumes you; what with the crazy instrumentals, guitar solo included and Lyrd’s completely edgy vocals! He sounds more relaxed, and at the same time more in control, than in any of the other tracks. A mind-blowing song!
10. Come Again
Quirky beats and muffled vocals make this song mildly catchy. However, the chorus gets extremely repetitive with time.
11. Beginning
This song is dotted with feel-good strings, beats and lyrics that inspire. The vocals are softer and deeper, which really works here. Being a track of relatively longer duration, parts of this song might go over your head… but when they finally converge inthe end, it’s beautiful.
Verdict: Being a one-man show is no joke! Aron Lyrd brings a lot to the table, with the energy and diversity in the kind of music he makes. While some tracks do not quite hit the bar, songs like Grassy Banks, Day Dreams and Wasted, which are refreshing and raw in the kind of impact they make, make him an artist to watch out for!
Stand-out tracks: Day Dreams, Grassy Banks, Wasted, Beginning
Overall Rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆ - Musicperk
Come Again opens up in a warm fashion, and slides into a cool and collected bit of funky, soulful rock. The shuffling beat of the track succeeds because of the smart instrumentation and insistent vocals encountered; the instrumental interlude keeps things fresh and inspires listeners to move onto Everybody Loves an event. Everybody Loves an event has Lyrd provide considerable amounts of narration, bringing listeners along for the ride. The beefy guitar work during the track imparts an early to mid 1990s feel to this cut, while Lyrd’s confidence here really sells the track. Grassy Banks changes things up and provides listeners with a different facet to Lyrd’s persona. This effort is much more sedate and softly-spoken; a different array of instruments chosen for this track further distinguish Lyrd as an eclectic and varied artist. The track gradually picks up steam and tattoos itself upon the hearts of anyone listening in; the ability of Lyrd to inspire with his music is unparalleled. Wasted draws upon a darkly emotive place for Lyrd, who creates a tremendously effective track with little more than vocals and guitar. The track builds off of the work of Deliverance-era Corrosion of Confirmity while keeping Lyrd’s own style front and center.
Made in a Minute has a chugging, straight-forward rock sound that is reminiscent of Blondie’s Call Me and Brownsville Station’s Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room. The track breaks through to current listeners with vocals that are in your face and stretch out beautifully upon the instrumental arrangements. Make it appoint to visit Lyrd’s website for more information about the artist, his recordings, and the latest news and reviews.

How many members does a band need to create a good sound? Many may say maybe three or four, while those who are more aware of the music scene today could say that a duo is enough. But the fact is that even one single great musician can create what one group of six people are hardly able to do. However, few are those who can go beyond creating great music to creating something truly special. This is the case of Aron Lyrd.
In his latest release, Lucid Dreams, this great composer and guitarist from Philly brings a style that reminds us of different bands from Matchbox 20, Oasis, and David Bowie to the legendary Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. Some of this can be seen in the first song, “Gasoline,” where guitar riffs mix with powerful bass lines and drum beats. Subtly aggressive and original Lyrd vocals are responsible for giving us a reason to shake our head, go crazy, dance, and turn on the engines.
“Becoming Extinct” is a catchy sound, and it has a While The Killers meets Smashing Pumpkins vibe with a little mess in between, like a cat fight. On the other hand, “Beginning” has that Chilli Peppers style (think “Under the Bridge”) with rather bleak voices.
“Come Again” is funky, fun, and entertaining, like a cross between Red Hot and Lenny Kravitz. It gets us up and down. The bass is definitely the star of this track. “Everybody Loves An Event” is going for a more Bon Jovi sound, and as far as production is concerned, it is quite different from the others.
“Grassy Banks” brings different elements. Tribal drum beats with an acoustic guitar give a Latin touch to the song.
“Hey, Hey” is quite eighties. As a soundtrack to movies like The Breakfast Club or any of John Hughes’s teen films. Entertaining, easy to listen tp, again it has those guitar chords and drum beats with faint melodious vocals by Lyrd; everything fits perfectly.
“Made In A Minute” contains new instruments such as a synthesizer that reminds us a little of Tears For Fears and Duran Duran. The rhythm guitars and riffs are excellent. The drums again make an appereance, guiding our feet to the beat of the song and along with the bass lines, all are present at this event. It’s epic and amazing. You can see some influence even of Oasis and MUSE.
“Shadows On Me” is like Third Eye Blind and Bruce Springsteen had a baby. It’s really catchy, and once again there are the acoustic chords and pretty much the same things we have been hearing in the other tracks.
In conclusion, each song has its special touch. One may be better than another one, but in the end, they all sound excellent and are worth listening to. Returning to the roots of this wonderful genre, Aron Lyrd ends up delighting us with something we can call rock.

Aron Lyrd redefines alternative rock. The melodic guitars and easy to remember melodies are what make his music a must have for those who miss the kind of alternative music made in the 90s. He’s also got amazing pipes as he croons on the sensual Wasted. The track begins softly before exploding into the visceral force of the chorus.
I admire his approach to rock music. There is a friendly vibe that runs all over his album. My favorite tracks are Day Dreams, Time Goes Forward, Wasted and Hey Hey. It is hard to describe his music using prose alone so you got to experience it to KNOW.
One of the reasons why I lost the desire to listen to the radio is the lack of real music. Everything sounds manufactured. And to have artists like Aron Lyrd creating music like that makes me glad we have the internet. So enjoy the amazing self-titled album from this Shippensburg, PA native and spread the word! - wordpress.com

1) When did you start in the entertainment Industry?
When I was 11 my family went on vacation to Orlando, Florida and MGM studio was on of the places we went to. While there, I was picked out of the crowd to play Gilligan on a brief remake of Gilligan's Island.
2) If you are a musician who inspired you?
Aerosmith, AC/DC, and KISS.
On that same note, I've been told that I sound like Matchbox 20, Oasis, The Killers, and David Bowie.
3) What where some of your struggles in this business?
I have been trying hard to get my music to fans of alternative rock who have never heard of me. It is very hard to break through to audiences who have yet undiscovered my music, without music videos still being the forefront of where musicians become known of by new fans back when I was still teenager.
4) What upcoming projects are you working on?
I have my current self titled album, which was released by the independent record label Blue Pie Productions. (formally Blue Pie Records) I am hoping for my agent to successfully pitch my album to a major label. In the mean time, I have signed some non-exclusive and a few exclusive licensing contracts (TV, Film, and video game soundtracks with Sound Pro Music, Lab Hits, and Sumerious Music, among others. At the moment Sound Pro Music is trying to pitch one of my songs for usage in the soundtrack to an episode of Grey's Anatomy and Sound Pro Music is trying to pitch my current single Day Dreams for an episode of The CW.
5) Tell us about you as an individual, elaborate:
As nothing noteworthy comes to mind, I have decided to copy & past my biography from my E.P.K. below.
This one man zeitgeist, pulls together an array of music styles from power pop to electronic to Paul Weller/Style Council-esque mod. There's an easy breezy feeling to the musics & lyrics but underneath is a serious mood & message ... even more profound then one might expect & definitely more than most musicians who make the same claim of personal insights in their music. Since 2004 Lyrd has been nearly fully paralyzed, eventually regaining use of his arm & writing poetry to help his rehabilitation which led to making music. Music has become something special for Lyrd both as a tool for dealing with his personal/physical trauma but also for reaching out across the world to share his message of hope, in the process both rediscovering himself as a person & developing as an artist. All the music is computer generated but instead of going for the typical electronic Lyrd is more interesting in creating music as if he was in an actual band. Lyrd incorporates the sounds of guitars, bass, piano & drums for something that wouldn't sound out of place on a pop radio station coming up behind a tune by Oasis, let alone there's nothing about it to belay that Lyrd has any physical difficulties helped in part by excellent keyboard breaks, guitar solos & even backing vocals. It's very impressive what Lyrd has created & I'm almost embarrassed to mention his physical limitations considering this is so much more intricate than a lot of bands out there with fully functioning bodies. Aron Lyrd (self titled album) includes some previously released songs, obvious from the lower production quality of the older songs, but shows how far Lyrd has developed as an artist. It's not the most cohesive sounding release Lyrd has created as it feels more like a greatest hits collection. Not just does Lyrd not fall petty to typical electronic but he aims for a range of styles. "Everyone Loves An Event" is a piano intensive highlight ... with even a bit of cowbell. While "Shadows On Me" uses the rockabilly motif right down to the singing. The feeling of country music returns with the rock ballad "hey, hey " & the twang of "Grassy banks " "Time Goes Forward" is disco funk jam while "Day Dreams " could be straight out of the Oasis catalog. As far as I know Lyrd's music didn't get developed fully until after his illness, which shows how great art can come out of a potentially bad situation. & no, if you're wondering, you won't get depressed from his music. Though the lyrics might sometimes come out of depression, as the titles slightly belay, the music is anything but.
6) What do you see for yourself in years to come?
While I do hope to have my agent get me signed by one of the big 3 major labels, I am currently working hard on a second bachelor's degree. I plan on working on my master's degree after that. I've got three more semesters left until I get my second bachelor's degree. Since I am allowed to take a few classes that count towards my second bachelor's degree and my master's degree simultaneously, it will only take me three semesters after that go complete my master's degree as well. - http://spacedoutmagazine.com/

Music: Day Dream by Aaron Lyrd – Harrisburg, PA
ARTIST COMMENT: Emerging artist Aaron Lyrd
Why did you select “Day Dream” as your single?
I selected “Day Dreams” as my current single, due to that it is presently my best selling song on iTunes. This is despite that it is newly released. It also has had the highest rate of getting selected to be placed on the regular rotation at FM, Sirius Satellite radio and online radio stations.
It was completed last of the ten songs on my album and is listed towards the end of it.
What was the writing process for this song?
The writing process of this song was basically trial and error.
How would it be to see this song being performed on stage?
I put a lot of energy in essentially every song that is not a ballad, whenever I perform.

I started writing poetry and eventually it led to music.
Who are your music influences?
Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS.
What method at the time of writing a song?
Essentially, the main writing remaining to do is the instrumental portion of the song. I just put something together that best suits the original poem, before it was a song. Good Times,Great Times. How was the recording and writing process? How you came out with the album’s title? Any release date yet in mind? January 3, 2013.
How was it to work with Keith Clizark?
He is suprisingly down to earth and easy to talk to.
What has been one of the funniest moments you have been or took part while touring?
Mainly, the time that the tour bus driver forgot to put the parking break on and the tour bus down the hill into a ditch. It would not have been funny, if I hadn’t owned the bus. My car insurance paid for the damages.
Any news that we should be aware of?
My agent is looking to get me signed with the major label Universal sometime this year.
Where may we find more about your music?
http://www.humanfankind.com/2013/01/02/rising-artist-of-the-day-aron-lyrd/
Do you feel you’re moving on the right direction?
Yes, my agent is one of the best in the business. The solid amount of radio play that I am currently getting, coupled with the PR that they are seeking to get me soon, should be more than enough to get me signed with Universal. - Vents Magazine

Our recent interview comes from the sensational indie singer/guitarist Aron Lyrd who recently spoke to our Webzine about his music and what is his driven passion to want to entertain others. In this revealing spotlight, Lyrd speaks about his musical influences, his highpoints & lowpoints in his career so far, and his amazing story of turning a tragic event into something meaningful. Here is what developed.
Isaac: Let’s get started with this interview. When and how did you first become interested in music?
Aron: When I first became paralyzed 6 years ago, I started writing poetry. That led to my putting music to it.
How long have you been playing music?
Aron: I've been playing music for six years, so far.
Isaac: Who would you say are your biggest musical influences and why?
Aron: Some of my biggest influences are Aerosmith and AC/DC. Aerosmith were able to get over their addictions to street drugs and prolong their careers. AC/DC was able to keep the rest of their band together for decades, even after their original lead singer, Bon Scott, died of alcohol poisoning. Both bands were able to triumph over adversity, which serves to inspire me.
Isaac: What has been the greatest highpoint in your career so far?
Aron: I would have to say looking at my MySpace Music Page, http://www.myspace.com/aronlyrdmusic and seeing that it hit the 12,000,000 plays mark just last month, after my new page having been made only this past November 1, 2009 to replace my old one that I deleted to make way for this new upgraded one. I had kinnerdesign.co.uk make this new one to give it a more professional looking feel. This statistic really tells me that music fans out there are listening to my songs.
Isaac: This is amazing.
Isaac: What has been the greatest disappointment in your career so far?
Aron: I would have to say going this long and not getting signed to any type of major record label. They do say that the entertainment industry is one of great uncertainty. It feels like the millions of plays come both as the highpoint and a disappointment. What is disappointing about them is that they've proven inadequate for me to be offered a record contract with a major label. Ultimately, any musician should play their music primarily, due to that the enjoy doing it. I just can't get past that I could be 95 someday and occasionally ponder what kind of music career that I could have had, if only I were signed... Well, that's not to say that I never will be. It is just that when a person becomes very old someday, they can't help but wonder about what could have been. I only hope that is not me someday, so that I am still left with few, if any regrets.
What did you learn from that experience?
Aron: Basically, what I just touched on. Something like playing music is best to be done based on that the person doing it finds contentment in it.
Isaac: What draws you to want to play the type of music that you do?
Aron: I would have to say that my lyrics come from past experiences. Alternative Rock is at sort of a mid ground between your bubble gum pop singers and hoarse shouting hard core heavy metal. It serves to help me feel a sense of balance too.
Isaac: What do you feel it takes to play this type of music that you play?
Aron: To me, you really have to have a story behind you. Anybody can start writing music about anything, albeit it is that spark of inspiration that drives somebody to put their heart and soul into their work. That's what led me to put ten of my poems to music, which, as the end result, became my first album. http://bit.ly/d7HFq1
Isaac: What do you think you will create that will make your performances and who you are stand out in the music industry?
Aron: I hope that I can rise above all of the commercialism out there and just really define myself as a musician, a poet, and as a person to the whole music scene. Basically, as they say, all publicity is good publicity for publicity's sake. When Alice Cooper killed a chicken on stage, that's basically how he got discovered. I want to do it a different way.
Isaac: If you had the opportunity to do one cover, what cover would you do and why?
Aron: I would do Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith. For one thing, they're my favorite band and I've gotten to see them play live twice. Secondly, it would be meant as a tribute to them for all of their achievements in music.
How would you put your own spin on this cover?
Aron: I would apply some more mid tempo tenor sound to the song to slow it down a bit and make certain parts of it a little faster as well. Also, I would use a synthesizer for the opening part of the song to capture an almost robotic sounding voice during the opening of it that would be unique to my cover of the song. You know, when Steven Tyler first says "Sweet Emotion" in a more drawn out way at the beginning of the song. That's where I mean.
Isaac: What does it take to be a good songwriter?
Aron: Basically, it - Isaac Davis Jr., MBA

SONG INFORMATION
Orange Ambition or What's The Color of Tangerine?
written by: Aron Lyrd
genre: rock
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania singer/songwriter Aron Lyrd fifth album, Lucid Dreams, strongly influenced by 1970's pop that is without focus. Lyrd achieves some nice moments, such as the opening track "All The Time, It Is Mine", sounding like 1970's AM radio rock with a light R&B touch. "Just Wasting Time" is a solid track; mildly catchy with solid energy. This anti-love song advises a friend to kick her current boyfriend to the curb. Lyrd channels The Kinks on "The Sun Is Out", a relationship reminiscence that looks back over years. Lyrd's voice is very pleasant here. Lyrd veers into club noise with "Get Up, Come On"; seven-and-a-half minutes of beats and noise that's more like a musical run-on sentence than a song. "Asking For Just Too Much" is a vibrant bit of dance rock that finds Lyrd sounding a bit like Escape Club. We get to hear Lyrd's falsetto voice on "Tough Day, Alright Night", a non-committal bit of dance pop. One gets the impression that Lyrd is going for a Bee Gees vibe. Much the same can be said about "Enter Leave Don't Take My Heart". Lyrd seems to have his eyes on the big time with a MySpace page that claims over fifteen million spins. Consequently there is no doubt about Lyrd's creativity. Learn more about Aron Lyrd at [http://www.myspace.com/aronlyrdmusic] or [http://www.myspace.com/aaronblaird]. You can purchase Lucid Dreams digitally from Amazon.com. Please note that CDBaby has it under the title Hits with a slightly different track listing.

Aaron Lyrd is a man who overcame enormous adversity and has become a one man band writing and recording everything from guitar to percussion to vocals. He has a huge fan base on myspace and he is catching attention of promoters.
After contracting transverse myelitis in 2004, which causes swelling in the spine, and suffering a stroke from a blood clot, Aaron was paralyzed. Through determination and arduous work, he regained the use of his arm, and started writing poetry, which eventually led to music. In 2010 and Lyrd has quickly become a dramatic force in the alternative rock scene.
Who were your early music inspirations?
David Bowie, Matchbox 20, and, in part, The Beatles.
How would you classify your music?
Alternative, with some soft rock and punk mixed in.
Aaron Lyrd “Just Wasting Time” MP3:
SKOPE IT HERE!
You went thru so much with contracting transverse myelitis and the subsequent stroke, you are truly an inspiration. Tell me how it changed your life and influenced your music.
Going through having transverse myelitis and having a stroke made me rethink my life and realize the my minimal aspirations to work in a mail room for the P.A. state government needed to be improved as well as that I needed a true sense of direction in my life.
Tell me about your cds and new projects you have?
I’m currently working on three different albums, which were at different stages of completion when the two separate record labels that signed me got involved. First there’s two albums through Team Mash’N, a branch of Universal. They are titled Just Wasting Time and I Did It My Way. The second one is named after my single that is by far my best selling track right now. The third album is a self titled album, with 13 tracks that is being released a little later this year by Tate Music Group. I also have 9 Japanese animation or anime music videos that have been made entirely by the promotion company, Breaker Entertainment: http://www.myspace.com/breakerentertainment . Finally I have a poetry book that is coming out in October of 2012. It features all of my poems that were never made into songs.
What would you like people to get from your music?
I want them to go away feeling thoroughly entertained. In general, as long as they don’t try to use it as an excuse for violence, such as Helter Skelter or what Limp Bizkit’s song titled Break Stuff was at Woodstock ’99, I’m happy with people simply feeling entertained by my music. On a side note, I’m slowly becoming a big Beatles fan through regularly listening to their mp3's whenever I go on long family road trips. In that regard, I mean them no disrespect to them and my song titled, Orange Ambition, had a very positive and strong Beatles influence.
What would you like to be doing 5 years from now?
I’m hoping for my two full length albums that are being released through Team Mash’N/Universal later this year to both go platinum once each. Otherwise, I would like to see myself still being happy and healthy by then.

Bio
This one-man zeitgeist, pulls together an array of music styles from power pop and electronic to Paul Weller/Style Council-esque mod. There's an easy breezy feeling to the music & lyrics. Underneath is a serious mood & message even more profound than one might expect. Since 2004 Lyrd has been nearly fully paralyzed. Nevertheless, he has pulled together the strength, eventually regaining use of his arm & writing poetry to help his rehabilitation. This led to making music. Music has become something special for Lyrd, both as a tool for dealing with his personal physical trauma and for reaching out across the world to share his message of hope. In the process both rediscovering himself as a person & developing as an artist. All the music is computer generated but instead of going for the typical electronic sound Lyrd is more interested in creating music that sounds and feels live. Lyrd incorporates the sounds of guitars, bass, piano & drums for something that wouldn't sound out of place on a pop radio station coming up behind a tune by Oasis. Aided in part by excellent keyboard breaks, guitar solos & even background vocals the outcome is another testament of strength, as the music goes unaffected by the daily physical challenges which he faces. It's very impressive to say the least. Aron Lyrd (self-titled album) includes some previously released songs which may be of lower quality then the more recently written works. However, this is meant to showcase how far Lyrd has developed as an artist. You will enjoy the range of styles and mix of song selections. "Everyone Loves An Event" is a piano intensive highlight, that even features the use of the cowbell. "Shadows On Me” ROCKS, right down to the vocals. The country feel is undeniable when listening to the rock ballad "hey, hey”. There is even a little something for disco funk jam fans! If you are a fan of Oasis, then you’ll love “Day Dreams”. Lyrd's music shows how great art can come out of a potentially bad situation. There is beauty and healing in expression this project proves that.
