Bio
Formed by Drummer Isaac Gilwit, Bass Player Billy Glynn, and Guitar/Lead Vocalist Rich Moccia in the summer of 2005, 3WB (also known as Third Wave Bandits – from Westchester, NY) has been consistently pushing the musical envelope. With the original idea of ska in mind, the three quickly brought on Tenor Sax player Sam Miller, Alto Sax and vocalist Rob Angilletta and Trombonist Ed Dewey; they further solidified a tight horn section with the recent addition of Trumpeter Gavin Harris.
In the past four years 3WB has opened and headlined shows at some of the hottest venues in the tri-state area including CBGB’s, The Knitting Factory, and Starland Ballroom with bands such as Mustard Plug, The Slackers, and Westbound Train. In the summer of 2006 the band won the Westchester County Battle of the Bands and has since experimented with and branched out to other musical genres including funk, latin, jazz, rock, ska, and blues.
The current incarnation of the band includes RJ Carducci on Drums, Dan Tyner-Bryan on Tenor Saxophone, and Freddie Fuego on Trombone, and the band has been incorporating more and more cover songs into their shows, including songs from the Temptations, Sam and Dave, the Blues Brothers, Dave Matthews, Ray Charles, to name a few.
