If you need a little sunshine in your life and possibly a refreshing perspective on it, then A YEAR FROM MONDAY is the band to get on board with. With catchy, smart, and upbeat songs on its newest album Yggdrasil, the band is quickly garnering the attention of music lovers nationwide. Using lyrics that explore the many facets of humanity and blending alternative rock, Bowie-esque pop, and 80s new wave, AYFM – its fans’ moniker – has carved out a new genre in the music world: mainstream alternative.
The band maintains just two members. Will Stevens handles all things guitar (bass, electric, acoustic, and ukulele) and Brad McClellan performs lead vocals and all keyboards. Originally hailing from Reno, Nevada, the band made Austin, Texas, and San Francisco, California its home for several years before reuniting back in Reno in 2014.
Currently, the band’s single “Follow Your Bliss” continues to attract attention and appears on Skope Magazine Radio, and Spin Charts Radio, and the song “It’s Up to Us” recently received honorable mention in the Reno Gazette Journal’s Song of the Year competition.
