Bio
When it comes to sending musical nostalgia through the ears, and warm colors though your soul, Austin Sexton just might be the closest thing to perfection in that realm. Springing back into life with a new retro-based soul/alternative sound, Austin seeks to bring "live instrumentation" and "traditional song structure" back to a modern day free-for-all music production platform. Playing the majority of instruments in his records, he stands close in the circles of Childish Gambino, Bruno Mars, Tame Impala, and Toro Y Moi.
Austin has performed with mainstream music acts from G-Eazy, Ty$, Schoolboy Q, Jeremih, Travis Scott, to KYLE, B.O.B, ASAP Ferg, Jhene Aiko and several others. Currently based in Southern California (Santa Barbara), he has traveled California’s coast from top to bottom playing at several venues- more recently venturing into Nevada and Arizona; picking up new fans and friends at every stop. “At the end of the day, I just want to be heard. I really believe if you hear me, youll want to see; and if you see, you’ll want to be apart of the journey. That’s all I really want; people who want to be apart of the journey, and see this thing through till’ the end with me- whenever that should be”
Austin is setting up to release his debut album “Goodsex” (an abbreviation for Good Music from Austin Sexton) July 10th, 2017; an R&B/Pop-Soul Alternative project that takes his love for live instrumentation and blends it with a mainstream pop-formula song structure. With influences such as John Mayer, Music Soulchild, The Fugees, Lenny Kravitz, Marvin Gaye, and several other soul legends- this project is bursting with warm colors, melting guitar leads, and smooth sultry vocals.
Expect to see more from Austin in the coming weeks!
