Anthony Bezel gives an animated performance over powerful sub-bass on "Worst Way."
Toronto's Anthony Bezel raps with a blazing fury on his new submission "Worst Way." A buzzing bassline from producer Scxtt sets the tone for the record, supplying many pockets for the highly technical Bezel to dart in and out of. Outside of his thrilling rap ability, Bezel also comes through with a half-sung hook that hints at some Kevin Gates-like versatility. Toronto seems to be producing new talent every day, but Anthony doesn't sound all too much like his peers from the city.
The track comes off Bezel's BZL Disc 2 project, which is available for stream on SoundCloud. Let us know what you think of him in the comments below. - HotNewHipHop
Anthony Bezel's submission is hard as nails in its precision.
Born on the East Side district of Scarborough, Anthony Bezel very much a Toronto kid. However, his music isn't as immediately similar to the R&B-infused sounds of his city, but the DNA of the region is present. The dark, minimal feel of the beat fits in among the rest of Toronto's colder production styles, and Bezel steps up to the plate with some precise and deceptively complex flows. "I do what I feel. I say what I feel. It’s something I'm good at, which is making the listener feel like they're me," he writes. "On every song. I'm me. I want them to feel like their me too. I want them to feel like the song is about them. The ability to put down what I feel or see into a rhythmic pattern that People can relate to. I see myself as the best at what I do. A raw MC. A raw, talented MC." - HotNewHipHop

Bio
Every once in a while, the music industry discovers something unexpected, something game changing, and most of all something legendary. Their mark on the game isn’t well understood for years to come, but they embellish, they shift ego’s, and they alter entire genres. Enter Anthony Bezel, a perennial game-changer in the making, offering a perspective, a refreshing outlook, and a cutting-edge aural revolution; all for the price of one.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Anthony Bezel spent the majority of his adolescence in neighbouring Toronto, a sky-high city of bright lights and loud sirens, a stark contrast to the rest of the country’s demeanour before relocating to the city's west end neighbourhood of Rexdale. It was here that the dark corner of
urban life enthralled the young’n – but early motherly affection kept him sane.
“My mother raised me, for most of my life. My dad did as well. They split at an early age. But my grandparents raised me too. My childhood was different, I was very questions based.” he says. "I wanted to know more about everything, and also test that knowledge with my own perspective. I realitively make music because I feel this way in a sense. I feel like I have so much to say and so much to give through this gift that I create these scriptures."
By age five, music was already an option, as Anthony Bezel recalls: “My mother always loved R&B, my father used to sing, and my uncle was a rapper himself. By six I was writing and reciting my raps. I was also really inspired by my cousins who were like big brothers to me. A lot of time I would live with my aunts respectively for quite a bit of time so I was around them as if we were siblings" By the time he turned fourteen, the familial ties ended up leading to an introspective learning curve, with music serving as a centerpiece.
“When I was 14, I decided this is what I loved, and what I wanted to do. My uncle kind of showed me the ropes, but my cousin (Gold Tubby) helped me take it to that next level of insane militant regimen. He made me understand how hard you have to work, educate and establish a regime so you can conquer you're greatest enemy. And that's usually your own mind.”
But, as the lord giveth, he taketh away. An unexpected five-year hiatus took Anthony to unknown Florida, apart from the family that had so strengthened and regulated him. “My teen years were different. I spent fair amount of time between my mom, my moms mom, my dad, and my dads mom. I had to learn to work hard and provide for myself. I did a lot of wrong but the more mistakes you make the more you learn, and I learned.”
"Music was always the getaway. It was always the thing that I held such a deep fascination with. How I was able to take a symphony of sounds and create a structure to my preference. It was amazing to feel the feeling I get when I can express where my thoughts
are at onto a microphone. I feel as if I'm Michelangelo when he painted the Sistine chapel ceiling or Coronation of the Virgin by Enguerrand Quarton. My art provokes thought." Anthony explains. “I'm an artist. It is my job to provoke the establishment. To provoke what you believe. To provoke emotions. To provoke a conversation.”
With such an ambivalent outlook and an aura of a visionary messiah it is only a matter of time before the world hears the phenomenon, Anthony Bezel
