Biography
Akishia, formerly known as in the music industry as Darnaa, is a Pop artist who's music, lyrics and passionate vocals tell her courageous story of her personal struggles and her ability to overcome them. Originally from Sacramento, California, Akishia moved to NYC when she was 22.
Her turbulent life is reflected in her Bad Behavior EP with songs she has recorded and performs such as "Pink Champagne”, “Let it Go”, "Survival", Some Kind of Way" and "Cowgirl". The EP is an anthem about women and relationship.
Akishia has garnered over 3.5 million YouTube views and consistently ranks as one of the top Indie artists on ReverbNation. Akishia has also charted #1 in top 50 Internet Radio Spins for Indie Artists and the #2 most downloaded song on Media Base and Serato.. Akishia also has more that 250,000,000 impressions in print and digital media worldwide.
Akishia has performed with such artists as Travie McCoy, DEV, B.O.B., T.I., French Montana, Miguel, R. Kelly, Kem and Kid Sister.
Akishia has recorded more than 40 songs and recently recorded five singles with super producers Harvey Mason Jr. and Alex Cantrell. Judge Jules and DrummaBoy have remixed songs for her.
Akishia completed two 14-day promotional tours in Korea and London and performed twice at SXSW, at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in L.A., at venues all over New York and at the Sundance Indie Lounge.
