Blossom in the Desert is the latest installment of Divine sound coming forth from the New Jerusalem consciousness, Dimona, Israel. It is the elevated expression of the genre ‘Sounds of Deliverance’ reflecting the expansive realm of the growth of the musicians and performing artists coming forth from the Kingdom of Yah at Jerusalem inspired by the teachings, guidance and creative intellect of Anointed Spiritual Leader, Ben Ammi Ben Israel.

I am writing this expression with my headphones plugged into the computer moving through the tracks of this profoundly evocative spiritual sound. As I keep coming back to track 11, I would claim this one as my anthem. Why? Because it brought to life the prophecy of Yah’s hand tilling the desert of the Negev again While the East Indian instrumental sound played so beautifully by Zehorah Yimeul Ben Kazakiyah, her young son on the drums took me back to childhood Trinidad and Tobago where my cultural socialization was influenced by both African and Indian musical instrumental sounds.

Zehorah opens the album with a spoken prologue on rhythm; her authoritative vocal projection and well-managed diction inflect a soothing introduction to her main message of how African-Edenic people lost the Holy element of rhythm leading to a degenerative state in society today. My tensions were trying to box her into a familiar listening mode but her rich repertoire instructed my taste and disciplined my inclination towards a certain type of rhythmic sound. That, said, I still must have a favorite, a type of ‘hit’ track or ‘road march’ as we say in Trinidad. Mine is track 11, Blossom in the Desert’.
Exploratory and dynamic have been the experiential journey I have had with Zehorah’s ‘Blossom in the Desert’ asserting her own unique brand of talents as a veteran multi-talented performing artist. She took me musically and vocally from the rain forests of the Andes and the sounds of the Native Indians in track 2 through to the Latin-American Salsa, then stabilizing my heartbeat with the Drums and chants of Africa-Eden, through to the mystical instrumental sounds of East India with Tabulah and Tarbukah, then the familiar sounds of the African-Caribbean world of Reggae/Rap with Track 14, ‘Liberation Posse!’

Hard to pigeon-hole, as her style is musically eclectic in that each track, while conveying the elevated message of healing redemptive sounds, allude to a style drawn from the historical and universal culture of music. She weaves a seamless thread through the album; like a theatrical piece; plots its message of promise, praise, dance, relationship, reconciliation and the spoken word.

While the platform as well as some of the terms and concepts may be new to a global audience, this album will appeal to the youth even a fussing baby; as well as music lovers looking for a new yet familiar sound with a hopeful regenerative message of authoritatively expressed Truth. Marketed effectively and strategically, this collection can be a universal success. Why not?!
This is our time; for the degenerative sounds putrefying the airwaves are light years away from the fragrance of the ‘Blossom
In the Desert.”

BLOSSOM IN THE DESERT- ‘A PERSONAL EXPERIENTIAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE CD.’

If I were to sum it up in one word, this would be MASTERPIECE.

I am of course referring to the latest blessing from Royal Kingdom Productions restored genre of Songs of Deliverance BLOSSOM IN THE DESSERT by veteran songstress and performing arts extraordinaire ZEHORAH.

This sacred composition in the form of a CD is not just a CD; it is an education, an experience, a prayer and a revelation. BLOSSOM IN THE DESSERT is a not only a full but wholesome experience. In listening to it we can truly understand why it is has been said that “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul”.

It has been said that you can tell the history of a people trough its songs. Well with this latest offering, we get a history of a people who have succeeded in restoring the natural rhythms of the African Edenic peoples to its rightful place in our popular consciousness. BLOSSOM IN THE DESSERT succeeds in taking us on a journey spanning age, place and time.

It is not often that you find a CD in which you can truly say that more or less every track is your favorite. Yet this is definitely the case with BLOSSOM IN THE DESSERT. Some of my favorites are: The Power and the Might, Whisper, Until, Dance of Life and of course the highly recommended and inspirational signature track, Blossom in the Dessert.

Not only value for money, this CD is a meditation, an offering and a prayer answered. In it you get an experience that engages your heart, mind, body and your soul. A must have for all lovers of life and music connoisseurs.

Bio

“Blossom in the Desert” by Zehorah is the latest installment of Divine sound emanating from Dimona, Israel, an elevated expression of the new and exciting musical genre “Songs of Deliverance”. These sounds herald the good news of peace, tranquility and harmony – the “New Jerusalem consciousness” – in the here and now, manifest in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. The mighty message of redemptive truth found in Zehorah’s “Songs of Deliverance” will assure you that true salvation and deliverance are absolutely attainable and totally real.

A member of the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem, Zehorah resides in Dimona, Israel, in “The Village of Peace.” Known for its achievements in communal living and self sufficiency, they are arguably considered the world’s most progressive and health conscious community. Forty years after daring to chart a course contrary to contemporary trends and being forged in the furnace of adversity, they have been called “the miracle in the desert” and “an island of sanity”. As adherents to the visionary teachings and example of spiritual leader Ben Ammi, they are sought after globally as advisors in health and nutrition, agriculture, education and community development. Since music is an inherent reflection and expression of the artist’s mind, environment and experience, it is such that uniquely shapes and colors Zehorah’s music: she sings only of that which she knows.

While an obvious metaphor for Zehorah’s budding artistry, “Blossom in the Desert” also refers to the prophetic regeneration of the Northeast African landscape of the Judean Desert, where she and other community members have forged a lifestyle that is now in full bloom. Indeed, this blossom has many faceted petals. The CD is graced with the full range of talent from the RKP label, with appearances from numerous community artists, including members of the famed “Soul Messengers”. As Jerusalem’s location in the center of the Fertile Crescent meant that it has always been a cultural crossroads since ancient days, an eclectic range of ethnic influences and nuances are featured. Multi-talented herself, Zehorah plays keyboards, percussion and even cello, contributing her personal special touch to the CD. (As a classically-trained virtuoso, she was a featured vocal soloist in Spanish opera performed with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.)

But on this project, there’s no mistaking her familiar “soul sistah” roots! Zehorah opens the album with a spoken prologue on rhythm; her authoritative vocal projection, yet soothing diction effectively combine to convey the message of how African-Edenic people lost the “Holy” – “as in righteous, not religious” says Zehorah – element of rhythm leading to a degenerative state in society today. From there, the listener joins her on a melodious and rhythmic journey of self-discovery and realized purpose. Weaving a seamless thread like a theatrical work, the album’s seven scenes convey its message of promise, praise, relationship and ultimate reconciliation.
