The New World Fest

The New World F.E.S.T. (NWF) is a new breed of eco-friendly consumer festival that celebrates 'cool science, a smart future, and the greening of the planet'. The word F.E.S.T. stands stand for Festival of Eco-friendly Science and Technology. NWF takes place on a 95,000 square foot parking lot adjacent to the beaches in Santa Monica, CA on October 7-9, with 150 exhibits and 6 performance stages. One stage will feature live music and 5 stages will feature lectures and panels on sustainability, product and cooking demo's, book signings, eco-film screenings, and entertainment for kids. At least 2 Sonicbids artists will be selected and compensated according to their negotiated price./n/nThe New World F.E.S.T. (NWF) is an eco-friendly consumer festival that celebrates 'cool science, a smart future, and the greening of the planet'. The word F.E.S.T. is written to stand for Festival of Eco-friendly Science and Technology. The show takes place on a 95,000 square foot black top parking lot adjacent to the beaches in Santa Monica, CA over the weekend of October 7, 8, and 9, 2011. The NWF features 150 exhibits and 6 stages - all solar-powered of course. One stage will feature live music (the other stages will feature lectures, panels, product and cooking demo's, book signings, and entertainment for kids), plus there is an eco-theatre screening films, sustainable art exhibits including live sand sculpture, healthy and delicious food and beverage, a spiritual oasis, and some cool science - including robots, virtual reality, and product prototypes.

A minimum of two musical performance slots are reserved exclusively for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be paid according to their negotiated price and will perform in front of several thousand people.

They are in search of music that is energetic, melodic, and fits their theme, especially if you have shown an eco-consciousness in your music and/or personal lives. Because of the many product exhibits and family attendees at this event, they have chosen not to include electronica, hip hop/rap, metal, or punk in their preferred genres, but are open to any genre if artists feel they are the perfect fit for this event.

If artists’ content, lyrics, outfits, or appeal play to the environmentally friendly or science aspects of the show that will be considered at the time of booking.
