"These Blokes are fantastic!"

Here’s great recipe from a band out of Detroit: Take equal parts Celtic rock, funk, punk, add a ballad or two, mix in a few traditionals and whatever else is left over, toss it in a bowl, stir vigorously and what you get is a really tasty upbeat rollickin’ mix of good ‘ol powerhouse Irish stew one can really sink their teeth into. No seasoning needed.

"CD Review: The Kreellers: Sixth & Porter, August 2010"

Do you love harmonica and drums? Are you into Celtic rock? If so, this CD is a peppy and fun one, offering up plenty of tracks that pound out energy and verve. I thought it was a lot of fun!

The musicianship here is fantastic and the vocals strong. A great selection of tunes helps keep the listener engaged, but for me it was the harmonica that kept my foot a tappin’. Something about that instruments makes me feel happy, and there’s plenty of it to go around on this album. The percussion provides enough backbone and everything else fills in nicely.

You won’t find pipes or fiddle as the centerpiece here, so if that’s what you’re into, you might want to look elsewhere. That said, don’t pass on this CD because of that–the music is full and bright and the arrangements are top notch. This is one of those albums where choosing a favorite track or two was just impossible for me. I found myself looking forward to each new song to see what it was going to bring to the table. None of them disappointed.

If you are hoping to find a band with style and energy that can knock things out of the park–be sure to give this band a try.

Where's the bag pipes, Irish whistle or fiddle you say? You won't miss them for a second! The percussion will get your head moving and your foot tapping while Paul's folk guitar playing and Derek's great vocals get you coming back for more. You see these guys at the bar in a Pub and you think, "Yeah, they're from Detroit" but you hear these guys on stage and you say "Wait, these guys are from Detroit???" I had no idea what to expect when I first saw them in Dayton but it re-ignited my passion for Celtic music. I love the album and give it Two Thumbs Up! They put on a great show and constantly interact with the crowd. If you catch them in a pub, go have a pint and enjoy the music!

In my opinion, your one of the best bands at this festival". - NPR Radio 90.3 FM WCPN

"Review from 2008 Saline Celtic Festival"

The biggest revelation of the Festival was the music. If I had had any inkling there were so many fantastic bands, I would have been attending this event for years. Two different stages hosted a whole spectrum of interpretations of Celtic music.
I was especially partial to the aforementioned Rant Maggie Rant and the Kreellers. The Kreellers fall a bit into the “Celtic Punk” category inspired by my favorites, The Pogues, and recently more popularized by bands like the Dropkick Murphy's and the Tossers.
