The Knockout Release New EP

THE KNØCKØUT recently released their EP, Do Not Cross. The band features MI alumni Jonathan Meyrowitz (Drums ‘08) on drums and Brandon Barta, (Guitar ‘08) on lead vocals along with singer/guitarist Jeff Sherman and bassist/backup vocalist John Chicas.

After a happy Father's day, Sunday, I had another art show tonight... This time at 'The Airliner", in Lincoln Heights. I was able to get a few friends in the show with me, so Mold & Mehdi both showed some pieces, too. Through out the night I made some new friends. I met a talented artist named Nikki Mull. Some of her art is below, and you can see more at www.nikkimull.com. I also met a band called "THE KNØCKØUT". A very lively group of guys with a hard sound. THE KNØCKØUT is one of the biggest up-and-coming rock bands located in Los Angeles. With their swift blend of 90's thrash guitars, punk-influenced vocals, large Rage Against the Machine style ending hooks, and techno-synth builds, they are sure to be a fan favorite of all Rock genres for many years to come. THE KNØCKØUT was originally formed over six years ago when Singer/Guitarist BRANDON BARTA met drummmer/percussionist JONNY M through a harmless band flyer at Moorpark college. Through the years they have together graduated Musicians Institute of LA along with playing hundreds of shows together under different aliases. It wasn't until 3 years ago THE KNØCKØUT was created when guitarist JEFF SHERMAN was brought on to give young life to a sleeping giant. They have played countless shows around Los Angeles, including gigs at Sunset Strip Music Festival, The Dragonfly, House Of Blues Sunset, The Terrace, The Key Club, The Hollywood Paladium, The Palace (avalon), The Whisky, The Roxy, The Viper Room, The Gig, The Palms, along with tons of music placement on such networks at MTV, VH1, and E! Entertainment. After countless requests in 2010, THE KNØCKØUT released the DO NOT CROSS E.P., showcasing their talents finally to the digital world. Be on the lookout, THE KNØCKØUT will be coming to a city near you VERY SOON!
Knifed øn the Metrø" is LA-based THE KNØCKØUT's third release, and this one is very unlike any of their others. A "re-invention" of their sound is an under statement, as TKØ has added a new brash Dub/Drum and Bass layer to their already aggressive Hard Rock sound. With the mixing of the likes of Refused and Pendulum, the new single keeps the listener between moshing and dancing as it drops a Dubstep/Hardcore Metal breakdown so deep that it'll break most car speakers. A track so versatile, you can hear it from a rock bar on Sunset Strip, to a mega-rave in a coliseum.
