"Disco Demons"

Driven by a pulsating bassline, this remix keeps building for almost two minutes – just until the soft vocoded vocals are being drowned in a crackling wave of distortion. Kudos to The Chaotic Good! - Disco Demons

"Skip Ships"

Baby Blue is a brilliant jackin’/electro house number for the Dim Mak / Green Shoelace Blog / Heineken Remix Competition. - Skip Ships

"Trash Bag Kids"

Their swoop on Nightcall is really enjoyable with its driving bassline and distorted vocals and beats. - Trash Bag Kids

"Ape with Barrels"

The Chaotic Good name seems alarmingly close to the definition of what he does, producing GOOD CHAOTIC music - Ape with Barrels

Bio

The Chaotic Good (TCG), formed in early 2010 by Jake Carpenter of Lexington, KY, is rapidly becoming a household name in the world of electronic music. Graduating valedictorian of his college class for his work with metal sculpture, Jake wasn’t always focused on being a music producer. He found his love for electronic music while listening to the likes of Daft Punk and Danger as he worked on multiple projects for the U.S. Department of Defense. With a musical background in drums and piano, Jake redirected his exceptional talent and taught himself how to create pulsating baselines, psychotic melodies, and breakbeat loops that fused together to become The Chaotic Good.

Now, rated as one of the top ten electronic/remix artists by Paste Magazine, TCG continues to release remixes and original electronic music that top both Hype Machine and SoundCloud charts. TCG has won multiple remix competitions, the most prominent being the Dim Mak Records/Heineken remix challenge in which his winning remix was released on Dim Mak Records.

After gaining national attention for his early remixes, TCG set out to release his first all original EP in the fall of 2010, titled Synesthetic. It was this EP that really caught the attention of other producers and proved that TCG could also make killer original music. TCG released his second original EP titled Alliance, which featured collaborations with producers from around the globe. In a time when dubstep seems to be overwhelming the electronic music scene, TCG sticks to what he loves by producing deeded tracks that exemplify both electro-house and breakbeat qualities. Paste Magazine says TCG “creates some of the thickest, juiciest synth music I’ve come across. It’s a real art to have music that’s heavy without abandoning melody and straying into noise entirely, but Carpenter nails it in just about every song. He’s a promising up-and-comer in the electro scene.”

TCG has independently headlined two national tours and has played over 100 shows in 2011 alone. He has played with such acts as Le Castle Vania, Skrillex, The Twelves, Ladytron, D.I.M., and Switch. Touring with an 8 foot tall, 600 pound robotic statue that he built himself, it’s obvious to the audience when TCG is in the building. He’s been featured on the music sites LessThan3, Oh! My God It’s Techno Music, and MySpace Music and had a featured article in Computer Music Magazine in January 2011.
