"Quote from Live! Nation"

Most legitimate bands must first leave the Boston market to find real success here. In a city overflowing with talented artists and a revolving door population of students, it is difficult for a band’s roots to take hold. However through quality musicianship and a business-minded determination, SPIRITUAL REZ has built up a solid fan base in Boston and other markets all over the northeast. By writing real songs that grab you (and make you want to dance!), utilizing extensive grass roots promotion, playing incredible live shows, and releasing their latest studio recording, rising in the east, SPIRITUAL REZ is a fast rising star power poised for greatness. Watch out for these guys!

"Quote from RockOn Concerts"

Spiritual Rez is a an attraction to look out for - they seemlessly blend true roots reggae with a consciouness raising spirit and unbeatable charisma with something that many roots reggae bands lack: really good catchy songs! The kind of songs you find yourself singing in the shower weeks later after seeing the band. They will be a magnet for future success accross the country and eventually worldwide!

"Fantastic debut from funky reggae band"

saw these guys open for Badfish (a tribute band for Sublime) and witnessed them totally blow the headliner away! I bought this CD as the show ended, thinking I would never see their album again. Thankfully they made the album available on Amazon so that the whole world can hear this wonderful music!
Spiritual Rez are a very tight, very groovy reggae group based in Boston (they all went to Berklee, which gives you an idea of how talented they are). While the album doesn't have quite the revelatory energy of their live shows, it's a fantastic introduction to their music. It's really about positivity - you can tell how much they love performing and many of their songs have an uplifting message, especially "Alone Again", the first track on the album. Toft Willingham and Van Martin, both on guitar and vocals, are fantastic frontmen. Toft takes the majority of singing duty while Van does most of the guitar. Van wrote the majority of the tracks, and he's a fantastic songwriter as you can immediately tell. The standout track on the album, in my opinion, is "Lesbian Explosion." The title may be stupid, but the song itself is really fantastic. Overall, I would recommend this album to anybody with an interest in reggae music.

"A wild ride on the rez'z reggae/funk rollercoaster"

A reggae based funk explosion that helps fill the gap between explosive live shows. A necessary ingredient for a good time pie. Chill rifts, challenging beats, daring vocals and passionate lyrics make this a must have disc for anyone looking for a good time or a chill way to unwind. - Amazon.com / reviewer O.B.
