"Duo Reinvented"

A Silver City thunderstorm, the "bright lights of Hatch" and the joys of living in "Little Deming" are among regional experiences immortalized in "Where You Are". (Paul Smith's) uptempo ode to "Oh! Little Deming" is a duet celebrating "10,000 hungery souls". (Sue Wise Smith's) "Silver City" is a haunting prayer for rain. Each penned several tracks for their CD.

Rainger

Paul Smith and Sue Wise Smith, a.k.a. Dos Locos, began their musical partnership 20 years ago in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The music that Paul and Sue create is a carefully crafted mix of styles that include folk, rock, blues, Latin and country that is seen through a lens of the Southwest New Mexico border land. Almost all of the songs featured in their act are original compositions as both singers are able to slide easily from lead vocal to harmony backup. Paul and Sue are two accomplished solo artists that are able to blend this musical soup into a unique style that defies category.
Paul and Sues musical journey has taken many twists and turns. After several attempts to make an acceptable studio recording Sue and Paul decided to buy a home studio. Then came a reunion with an old band mate of Pauls who happened to be a technical and creative genius: Pat Vaisvil. Pat joined forces with Paul and Sue to create the first Rainger album, Where You Are. Since that time, Rainger with Pat Vaisvil as producer and engineer have recorded over forty songs from the catalogues of Sue Wise Smith and Paul Smith. Songs from these sessions will be featured on Raingers upcoming album, The Other Side, due in the fall of 2009.
Sue and Paul continue to perform their truly one-of-a-kind act whenever and wherever possible. Rainger has turned its focus to writing songs for licensing opportunities in advertising, television and film. Sue and Paul offer melodic songs with strong lyrics written in several genres. With a catalogue that spans more that thirty years from two prolific songwriters, the music of Rainger probably has the perfect song for almost every situation.
