The selected artist will receive $500 for travel expenses and perform in front of major local, regional & national media that will reach millions across the country, as well as many music/entertainment industry VIPs./n/nPlatform One Entertainment is looking for a Sonicbids artist to open for the legendary Gov’t Mule, who will headline Dare 2 Dream, a benefit concert and silent auction at the House of Blues Chicago on Friday, February 5th, 2010. The event is designed to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research and treatment. The selected artist will receive $500.00 for travel expenses.

The selected artist will perform in front of major local, regional & national media that will reach millions across the country, as well as many music/entertainment industry VIPs. Previous Sonicbids artists selected by Platform One have performed in front of representatives from SPIN Magazine, Pitchfork Media, ABC, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Q101, 93XRT, WTMX and many other major media outlets. This will be a multi-genre benefit event and they are accepting all genres of music for submission.

Led by Warren Haynes - also a member of The Dead and The Allman Brothers Band, and one of Rolling Stones’ Top 25 Greatest Guitarists of All Time - Gov’t Mule has, over the course of eight studio albums and over 1,300 concert performances, built both an extensive, evolving body of work and a devoted fan base. In the band’s impressive career, Gov’t Mule has boasted notable musicians from other legendary bands including The Rolling Stones, Phish, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Black Crowes and Widespread Panic. The Grammy nominated band has sold over one million albums to date and is thrilled to be performing for Dare 2 Dream in Chicago this February to support pediatric cancer research and treatment.
