Open for Gavin Rossdale at Chicago's House of Blues

TODAY is your LAST CHANCE to submit to open for Gavin Rossdale at the Dare to Dream benefit concert on Thursday, November 5 at Chicago's House of Blues. One artist will receive $500 for travel expenses and will perform in front of major regional and national media./n/nOn Thursday, November 5th, 2009, Gavin Rossdale will headline Dare 2 Dream, a benefit concert and silent auction at the House of Blues Chicago to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research and treatment. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Illinois, an organization that is dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.



Platform One Entertainment, the organizer of the event, will select one Sonicbids artist to open for Gavin Rossdale and receive $500.00 for travel expenses.



The selected artist will perform in front of major local, regional & national media that will reach millions across the country, as well as many music/entertainment industry VIPs. Previous Sonicbids artists selected by Platform One have performed in front of SPIN Magazine, Pitchfork Media, ABC, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Q101 and many other major media outlets. This will be a multi-genre benefit event and they are accepting all genres of music for submission.



Gavin Rossdale, a musical icon and one of the most popular rock artists of the past two decades, will headline the event. As the lead singer for the British rock band Bush, he has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. The band's first album, Sixteen Stone, peaked at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and generated an amazing string of five Modern Rock top 5 hit singles including two at #1, "Glycerine" and "Comedown." The band then released its second album, Razorblade Suitcase, which went straight to #1 on The Billboard Top 200 chart and spawned two singles that smashed into the top 5 of both Mainstream and Modern Rock charts. Gavin's most recent album, Wanderlust, showcased a very impressive solo debut featuring more Top 40 hits, followed by a major North American tour.
