Cutesiness in music is a risky proposition. There’s a fine line between cute and cloying, and the cotton-candy sugar rush can turn into a saccharine hangover in a millisecond.
Thankfully, newcomers Oh Darling get the balance right, with singer Jasmine’s girlish vocals bouncing over the music like a balloon tied to a toddler’s wrist. There’s an innocence and giddiness to the music, and it’s impossible not to get a contact buzz from the band’s buoyant, charming pop.

Bio
Oh Darling hooked up in the summer of 2006. Jasmine sings, J.Marie is the bass player, Shane plays the drums and Daven owns a few guitars.
It is hard to beat warm summer nights in Portland, Oregon we spent most of them hanging out together, wondering around our neighborhood laughing, talking, carrying on as young lovers do. The days were spent playing and writing music, which resulted in our first EP.
Recorded and produced by Gregg Williams (The Dandy Warhols, Blitzen Trapper). The songs on the EP are about love, loss, joy and sorrow. Musically there is just a spark between the four of us, like your first love. We keep it simple, fun, and make music we think is cool.
We love the EP and you so much you can download the music for free.
We will be slugging and hugging it out in clubland, so please come check us out when we come to your town. Live shows are one of our favorite things.
Looking good, sounding good, you just can't go wrong.
