MEI (Meeting of Independent Labels) 2007

Mei, the Meeting of Independent Labels draws over 25,000 people, 300+ exhibitors, 300 showcases and live acts, 250 videoclips as well as 150 music professionals and journalists from Europe. Beyond showcasing the most outstanding artists of the new Italian Music Scene, Mei has the Mei Music Awards, meetings, presentations and debates.



The highlight of last year’s festival was the "Suoni Export" panel, which was a session devoted entirely to export and included more than 40 delegates from the biggest European music institutions: EuroSonic (Holland), Popkomm (Germany), French Music Export Office, Music Export Hungary, Music Export Finland, Womex (Germany), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Fmi2007 (Brasil), ECM Records (Germany), AEPI (Greece), VIP-Booking (UK), Impala/Vut (Germany), and many others.



Now in its 11th year, the Mei Festival 2007 will be held 24, 25 November 2007 in Faenza (Ra), Italy and will have 300 artists performing on 6 stages, with 3-4 stages specifically devoted to emerging artists. Mei is looking for artists in all genres from rock to world music to hip-hop.



Selected artists will all be provided with lodging and local transportation. Although you do not have to be European to be selected, Mei does not guarantee that travel expenses will be covered.
