Philadelphia based Mat Burke, Has experience beyond his years. Growing up in many areas across the country the only constant being his appreciation for writing, singing, and performing his music. Burke, Has seen, heard, and thus experienced more than most people thereby providing his with an uncanny ability to craft his poetic lyrics in a manner that appeals to the vast cross section of people who listen and enjoy not only the richness of his songs but his performance as well. The music is an edgy acoustic folk style that transcends all age groups and musical tastes. Burkes songs are filled with lyrics that resonate with anyone who hears them. His style of playing generates a rhythmic energy that has captivated a variety of audiences in the north east. while performing live his song seem to gain a momentum that catapults the audience to their feet, providing them with a memorable and exciting experience each time he plays.

With over 60 original songs Mat Burke Shows no sign of slowing down. Burke is constantly writing songs that show a maturity that is unseen in his generation. Mat Burke has been dominating the local scene in Philadelphia in fact he has won contests at such venues as World cafe live, Chaplins muisic cafe and others. Burke is truly a hope for music lovers who feel that modern music lacks heart. The young artist first Ep "Born to shine" shows his love for music and song writing ability and like the title itself , Mat Burke in fact is Born to shine.

Mat Burke is once again in the studio working on his first full length album "How do you like me now?" produced but Andy Rudy and is to be released in early spring.
