Bio
With a performance background ranging from regional theater to cruise ships to country line-dance bands, Kim is no stranger to the stage. Seeking a more intimate connection with her audience, and wishing to put her lifelong writing skills to better use, she began songwriting, learned how to play guitar (in her thirties!), and set out to blaze a trail on the folk/acoustic/singer-songwriter circuit.
Her music combines a variety of influences, likened to the genre-blending style of Lyle Lovett by one radio host, and covers a range of topics often balancing moody, emotional lyrics against upbeat melody lines. She can be tongue-in-cheek funny in one moment and break your heart in the next, her voice lending itself with a range and scope of sound few possess, running the gamut from fragile to sultry to bring-the-house-down and every nuance in between.
Kim produces a weekly, combo written/video blog called "New Song Weekly," showcasing her steady writing abilities. Her debut full-length CD "Free Therapy" is slated for release in late 2010.
