Katie and her team are great to work with and provide an excellent experience for all. We saw them several times locally and were sure they would fit for our occasion. Energetic. Ecstatic. Enthusiastic. Katie Perkins is new breed of artist; one that brings true god given talent to the table - unlike other artists, she doesn’t just sing music. She feels music, performs music and connects with her audiences! Katie started to sing at the very young age of 4, she has honed and mastered her vocal and performance skills, at only 11 years old she was out performing for crowds! It was at the young age of 16 that Katie faced a decision that would forever change her life - she needed to have open heart surgery for a heart condition that went undetected for 16 years! It was brought to her attention that due to the breathing tubes there would be a chance that she would come out of surgery and never be able to sing again, but without the surgery she’d only have 13 years left to live….if that. Without hesitating Katie looked the doctor square in the eye and said “I would rather sing for the next 13 years than to live and never sing again.” This life-altering event became part of her DNA, and influenced her even more in her career!
Since that major life event Katie has gone on to accomplish many great things in her career! She is a Berklee College of Music Alumni, she has recorded two albums, and recently got accepted into The Recording Academy! Katie has also played some major venues in the New England area, including the Connecticut XL Center, The Big E, and Foxwoods Resort Casino and more! Katie has also worked with some amazing people! She has worked with GRAMMY award winning engineer Joel Soyffer and has had vocal training with J Chris Griffin, who has worked with the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend just to name a few.
Along with all of those accomplishments Katie has also won First Place at the USA World Showcase, she was a finalist for the Katie Couric show to win a Recording Session at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN. Katie was also nominated and in the final running for GRAMMY Gig of a Lifetime, associated with CBS, and she was also nominated as Country Act of the Year for the 2013 New England Music Awards, and 2014 Country Act of the Year for the International Music and Entertainment Association Awards, as well as being nominated as 2014 Female Country Artist of the Year for the Limelight Magazine Music Awards. All nominees in each category for the Limelight Music awards are decided by the public on who people felt made an impact in the music community!
With a fanbase of thousands, which is growing by the day, Katie is sure to be a performance and experience you will never, ever forget.
