"Initial tracks from Mireles' debut CD"

The five songs from (Gabriel Mireles') upcoming CD are proof of an eclectic repertoire ranging from a Hendrix cover to an original number that brings to mind the anger and despair of Bob Dylan in combination of the other cuts remind me of Blonde on Blonde.

Many surprises and well worth a listen!

Bio

Gabriel Mireles arrives onto the American music scene armed with songs and guitar lines that clearly prove him a powerful musical force. But just as you think you have him pegged, the singer-songwriter and award-winning guitarist transforms into a later-day minstrel showering you with sensational, sometimes dream-like instrumentals as beautifully melodic as they are youthfully optimistic.

He is also a balladeer, whose lyrics personify his gift as a storyteller. His ballads and love songs place him among the best of today's American songwriters. Mireles draws from the emotions that run deep in each of us, revealing what we have all felt in matters close to the heart. He achieves this without being glib or saccharin but with a certain, very human sweetness, sensitivity and an honesty to which anyone can relate.

Although currently based in Boston, much of his material is a reflection of his experiences, relationships and social activism in New England as well as in his native Ohio. Gabriel has grown up in an atmosphere of artists, writers, and musicians. Gatherings with family and friends seemed always to begin with, or eventually morph into musical jam sessions that would last late into the night. His parents nurtured his interest in music exposing him to everything from folk and blues to jazz, classical and pop as well as Latin music played by his Mexican-born father.
