Summary

The Center of the Universe Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma is accepting applications for club venue bands to play on Friday July 24th or Saturday July 25th, 2015. Artists will be compensated up to $500 and receive hospitality.

All of the proceeds from the $15 submission fee will be donated to the Tulsa Public Schools Music Program.

The Opportunity

The Center of the Universe Festival is a two-day, non-profit music and arts festival held in Tulsa's Brady Arts District. It is Oklahoma's largest urban music festival with over 40,000 fans in attendance annually. The event, scheduled for July 24-25, 2015, is named after the popular downtown Tulsa landmark, the Center of the Universe, located on the Boston Avenue pedestrian bridge between Archer and First Street.

The Center of the Universe Festival will feature more 100 bands on three outdoor stages and seven indoor club venues. The event also offers a street market for local and regional artists to display and sell their work.

The Band

All genres
Original music only
There is no minimum age requirement to apply, however, some time slots are limited to bands with members under the age of 21

The Gig

Sets times are 45 minutes
Sets are 5:30 pm to 12:45 am
Load in is before 4:00 pm the day of the show
Load out is after 2:00 am the day of the show
Club venue assignments and set times will be determined by the festival
Professional sound and lighting provided
Sound engineer provided
Drum Kits provided

Additional Compensation Details:

Artists can earn up to $100 per band member or a maximum of $500 for the gig
Club Venue Artists keep 100% of their merch sales
Marketing and features on social media, posters, website and festival shirts
Access to the "Club Venue Band Hospitality Area" which includes free food and beer on the day of your set
Two weekend tickets to the festival per band member
Access to exclusive after parties on the night of your set
