The Opportunity
The Shreveport Labor Day Blues Festival highlights national and local blues artists, and attracts thousands of fans from the Ark-La-Tex area. The event includes non-stop live performances as well as painters, jewelry makers, etc., Louisiana cuisine, and other cultural arts and activities of Louisiana folklife. The festival is held at Shreveport's famed Festival Plaza, which lies on the banks of the majestic Red River and features a signature blue tower and two large 1,000-square-meter pavilions for outdoor events.
Established in 1981, ICR is a non-profit dance organization, and the oldest operating African American dance company in the State of Louisiana.
