Summary

Folk Alliance International (FAI) conference is an annual networking and showcase event that draws together over 2000 music industry professionals from around the world. Last year FAI booked over 100 Sonicbids artists.

The Opportunity

Official showcases form an integral part of the conference, providing presenters, promoters, agents, record companies, and media alike the chance to preview, meet, and network with top touring artists.

The Band

Required:

All individual or bands selected to showcase must:

  • Be a current member of FAI OR must purchase membership prior to the conference
  • Register for the full conference
  • Provide technical and publicity information

Open To:

  • Any individual or band may apply to showcase
  • Artists may be emerging but must be tour-ready
  • Artists should be regionally well-known, or well-known within their genre
  • Artist selection will be based on a diversity of genres
  • FAI defines folk to include (among other genres) Singer-Songwriter, Traditional, Bluegrass, Blues, Roots, Cajun/Zydeco, World, Celtic/British, Spoken Word, and performances for children and youth

Selected showcase performers also have the opportunity to perform private showcases in the host hotel. Notable previous performers include The Wood Brothers, Harpeth Rising, Seryn, SHEL, and many more.
