Summary

The 4th Street Festival Society is booking 10 Canadian Sonicbids artists for the 2015 Lilac Festival at 4th Street.  Compensation is provided.

The Opportunity

The Lilac Fest is a popular one day street festival that covers 13 blocks of inner city Calgary and is free to attend. The event takes place on May 31st and is an annual celebration of community spirit and artistic vitality.  It annually draws 100,000 people.

Lilac Fest hosts over 
40 musical performances from a number of different backgrounds and styles, with a focus on emerging or independent talent. The festival is well attended and embraced by citizens and community residents, fostering a high level of exposure for the artists. This will be the non-profit festival's 26th anniversary.

A.Y.E (A Young Extraordinaire), 
The Static Shift, Short of Able, Katie and Jason, Two Bears North, Joal Kamps, Mitch Belot, Jodi Doidge, Keiffer and the Curiousity Club

The Band

  • Must be Canadian
  • Must be willing to travel to Calgary to play knowing that travel/accommodations are not covered by festival
  • Alberta artists preferred

The Gig

Details:

  • 45 minute set
  • Outdoor stage, event goes on rain or shine
  • Professional sound provided
  • Sound engineer provided
  • No backline provided
  • Tech specs will be provided in agreement, provided at time of booking
  • Parking is limited so provide ample time to reach site
Additional Compensation Details:
  • Negotiated on an individual basis
  • Artists keep 100% of merchandise sales
  • Artists are linked to on festival's website and social media
