I'm a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Raleigh, NC. My first gig was when I was 14, opening for a jazz band at a cute little coffee shop in Durham, playing all original songs on a borrowed 12 string guitar. With my brother playing bass with me. It was really rockin'.

And pretty much killed the possibility of ever wanting a real job that wasn't music.

After that gig, my parents bought me my own real guitar (i.e. one that was not made for 6 year olds), and I've been writing songs relentlessly since. In November of 2007 I started really focusing on getting my music heard and played at all of the local open mics, and from there getting shows at local venues. In 2008 I self released a home recorded demo, played at a bunch of local and not so local venues, and made the decision that, hey, this is really and actually what I want to do with my life, so I'm going to do it. And started the journey of doing it, which is a lot like feeling your way around in the dark while simultaneously jumping into a cold lake naked. In a good way.

Which leads up to the present. In June of 2010, I'm quitting my lovely animal keeping job and going on a solo, self-funded but amazingly and luckily and wonderfully not exclusively self-encouraged or self-supported or self-enthused tour to try to get my music heard by the peoples.
