"I had to pull over to the side of the road the first time I heard Emily’s song ‘Mindy’. It was like a fresh faced, feminine Jobim waved her arms and said “Here I am!” A singer/songwriter who stretches easily into jazz harmonies, tight melodies, dexterous guitar playing and great storytelling...hooray!" - Erika Luckett

"...An interesting and compelling suite of songs."
"A Massachusetts native and recent Bay Area resident, Emily Shore presents an intimate and compelling suite of songs on "For The Climb." Recorded in L.A. with engineer David Peters, it also features Erika Luckett on guitar and Julie Wolf on keyboards. Sample lyric: "In the foot race of my soul, despite the present lead/ memory's final sprint will outkick the reality/ Until then I will roll at midnight on my side/ reaching for a ghost limb gone in search of stride." "Her music is intimate, personal. You know that by hearing her, you know who she is, and that she knows who you are."

"The CD is TERRIFIC! I love it all, but particularly the jazziness. It's great end-of-the day, before dinner, put your feet up and have a beer music that has me tapping or humming along with you. BRAVO!"

I'm a picky listener. Emily's CD has enchanted me- the songwriting is straight forward and intelligent. The vocal arrangments are really beautiful and I feel happy when I listen to these songs -I listen to track one a few times before moving on. When I have to repeat songs a few times just to get enough I say this is a great disc! - KJ Denhert
