"Pop Wreckoning"

“These are the kind of songs you want to have along for a long car ride in the summer, windows rolled down, speakers blasting.” - Pop Wreckoning

"QRO Magazine"

“The Dig are the kind of outfit that make being an NYC rock critic, discovering new bands, worth it.” - QRO Magazine

"EP Review Clip"

"...The Dig may be a brand spanking new band with their first LP released last year, but their experience in music is obvious in every note they play...." - The Aquarian Weekly

"Good Luck and Games EP Capsule Review"

With one hand deep in roots rock and roll and live performances that lift you up and leave you ragged, The Dig are building a reputation as one of the best young bands in New York. The songs on their new EP, Good Luck and Games, produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, The Ramones) have energy and intelligence matched only by their heartfelt swagger. See them now so you can say you saw them then. - The Onion

"Ep Review Clip"

"A unified, straight from the heart rock and roll band." - Jersey Beat

"Pop Matters EP Review"

This is the catchiest, most intriguing power pop band to emerge out of the no-name pile in some time. Brooklyn’s The Dig has one self-released EP and a growing live following. Even so, they’ll most likely be news to you, the way they were news to me. That’s good news, though, The Dig is fairly crackling with potential.

- Pop Matters

"Bowery Ballroom Review"

I have no witty observations or creative writing pull quotes to give you. They are just a damn good band. - Music Snobbery

"Bowery Review"

last night i went to bowery ballroom to see up and coming local band The Dig open for Mystery Jets. i had heard some rumblings about them from friends in the industry, and after last night i think i can understand why they are starting to generate a good deal of buzz. Beyond the obvious selling points, I think this band has a LOT of potential and talent and could grow into something pretty fucking awesome. I've had their three track ep on repeat all morning long and now totally want to listen to more. - I Rock I Roll

Bio

It’s been a busy past eight months for The Dig, who have spent the majority of that time on the road. Earlier this year, The Dig toured with Editors and The Antlers, Portugal. The Man and Port O’Brien, and The Joy Formidable. The band also performed at both the inaugural Truck America Festival and The Bamboozle festival this spring. In late July, the band finished a five-week tour supporting Thrice, Kevin Devine, and Bad Veins, and also opened for Dashboard Confessional on two shows in Illinois and Missouri.

The Dig’s debut album, Electric Toys, was released June 8th and is a mix of rock songs alternately upbeat and moody (“Carry Me Home,” “Two Sisters,” “She’s Going to Kill That Boy”), classic power pop-inflected (“Penitentiary,” “You’re Already Gone”), and dreamy, string-laced ballads (“For All Your Sins,” “Feel Like Somebody Else”). The album has been catching the attention of press such as Alternative Press and Relix, while multiple tracks have been featured on primetime dramas: “I Just Wanna Talk To You” on ABC’s Scoundrels; “Carry Me Home” on NBC’s Trauma; and “Look Inside” on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries. The Dig was also chosen as a Last.fm ‘Artist of the Week’ in June and its debut Daytrotter session is currently available online as well.
