Deep Samadhi are bang on point with a very tight set and moving melodies that definitely put the mind in a very meditative state. This Italian trio has definitely developed a sound that is very easy on the ears while still kicking balls.
Deep's progressive musicality is very enticing right from the get go. It didn't really take more than 10 to 15 seconds to get right into the grooves they bang out from song to song. Quite an impressive group of songwriters.
There is a distinct Sam Roberts vibe going on which is something I love and it's quite obvious that these cats have a chemistry that's really working well for them.
Having put the band together in less than week and subsequently placing in the Roadie Rock Festival of 2008 coming in second out of 108 bands demonstrates the raw talent they've got working in their favor. Placing second on their first outing is no small accomplishment in and of itself but the group followed up their initial festival success by placing first the following year. Hard work really does pay off and these cats are putting in overtime.
The talent pool doesn't end there though. With diplomas in sound engineering, experience in music management and a published poet in the group, this trio of talented seasoned musicians is definitely ready to put in the hard work it takes to make it in this business and I've absolute faith in their resolve to take their mysterious, ambient alternative rock sound and entice the world to take notice.

EP - This is now

2009
rock, alternative
An EP from Senigallia (AN) Italy , that collects in twenty minutes a carousel of
various rhythms and sounds.
Effective riffs of guitar that force you to move your shoulders while you're sitting at the computer; a tangible bass that makes you shake your head back and forth rhythmically, and a delightful drum that makes you jump if you do have some 'space: few tools for simple and pleasing melodies (Nothing to say).
The EP contains very sensitive, very (i'd dare) nostalgic tunes, with important texts on the borderline of human suffering, love and loneliness (From a window).
Easy, straightforward and satisfying even the rhythmic and the harmonic structure of the hidden track that closes "This is now" : an acoustic song that meets electronics (Two cigarettes).
There's an extremely clear sound, never banal and it well goes on with a strong and sudden summer storm!

- ROCK.IT - Chiara Longo
Deep Samadhi have a British sound for a band from Italy. One could attribute this to the fact that drummer Matteo Sideri received his sound engineering degree in England. All of this aside, Deep Samadhi is a good pop rock band with quirky sensibilities.
“Nothing to Say” is an upbeat song that sounds like a new wave song from 1981, but the band makes it sound so fresh it can fit into the music landscape of 2009. “From a Window” has some manic drumming that keeps the song jogging along with some nice lead guitar work. The best way to describe the sound of this band is a younger version of the Police. The Police were easily the biggest band in the world during the early to mid 80s, and if a group is going to model their sound on any specific band, The Police is a great band to model it to. That is not to say that the band is a copy cat by any means; it is just that the guitars and drums instantly recall Sting and Company. This has not hindered the band in any way as they won the 2009 Roadie Rockslide Festival.
Deep Samadhi have an EP out titled This is Now which is currently available at www.myspace.com/deepsamadhi. Hopefully this band will have an LP on the way as the band’s popularity seems to be growing and will allow the group to play more material at their shows. Bravo Deep Samadhi on your success.

Deep Samadhi come from Senigallia (IT).
The three met each other during July 2008 and spent four days in a garage rehearsing some of Jacopo’s rough ideas. Two days after they performed at Roadie Rock Festival 2008 and got 2nd amongst 108 bands that entered the competition; they tried again in the 2009 edition and they won the festival.
Their alternative rock revolves around a tight rhythm section, enveloping chord progressions, powerful solos and catchy vocal melodies with lyrics that span from social life to intimate reflections.
The Drummer obtained the diploma of sound engineer in England in 2005 and the specialist certificate “Sound Design Using Reason” through Berklee University in June 2009.
The Bass player has a degree in Environmental Science and he has a specialization in Acoustics.
The Lead Singer/Guitarist has published a poetry book in 2008, “I riti che non ci hanno
Tramandato – The rites that have not been handed down to us” through “IL Filo” Editions (IT).
They’re constantly playing live shows and at the moment Jajo is making his musical bones in Brighton Open Mics acoustic guitar , piano and voice.
