High Priest
Priest started rapping at the age of 14 intent to change the face of hip hop music and the generation that it reaches. Born in the "Home of the Celebrities" Los Angeles, California, Priest grew up listening to and being influenced by hip hop music. At the age of 12, he moved to Columbus, Ohio with his family. In Ohio, he began hearing a new style of music influenced by the Midwest, which showed him that music was universal and has many different styles and aspects to it. He began to practice different
styles and rap patterns intent on mastering every style of what lyricists refer to as "flow" - (the art of reciting lyrics in a certain way)
until he perfected his own and could rap any style he was challenged with. Priest's message is simple...... "You don't have to be corny because you are serving God". High Priest comes from Heb 5: 1-4. "The name doesn't describe a holier -than thou , prideful attitude of someone who thinks they have it all together, but rather that of a man who really loves God and has a desire to see his people enjoy life" says Priest about his name. If you could take the charisma and starpower of Nelly, combine it with the wit and confidence of Jay-Z, throw in the complex lyricism of Eminem and the outright " I love Jesus" attitude of Donnie McClurkin, you have just been
