Brothers Finn

The Brothers Finn are an improvisational duo currently touring the US in a restored 1954 Chevy to study six genres of American music, in a project entitled Imperchorstra: Improvisational Percussion Orchestra. Borrowing new techniques they learn in each genre, bassist Conner and his brother, drummer Daniel will film the process resulting in a feature-length documentary.

The aim of this journey is to document the cultural history and musical techniques of Jazz in Slidell, Louisiana, Electronica in Chicago, Illinois, Blues in Durham, North Carolina, Country in Nashville, Tennessee, Latin in Miami, Florida and Native American music in Taos, New Mexico. Despite the fact that some of these genres are not typically considered traditional American music, the brothers hope, in the process, to become much more versatile and accomplished musicians.

Having played together since childhood as the solid percussive backbone in bands ranging from jam to punk to blue-eyed soul, the Brothers Finn have mastered musical synchronicity. They recorded their first self-titled EP in their hometown of Durango, Colorado in 2007 and then ventured to Austin, Texas, the self-proclaimed "Music Capital Of The World". In Austin they met writer and filmmaker Rachel Fields, with whom they are collaborating on the Imperchorstra project.
