Bio
Torrey Musicant was born in Anaheim, California, but spent his adolescent years in the southwest town of Las Vegas, Nevada, where he stumbled upon his passion at an early age of 16, although, unaware of the long and difficult road that generally lies ahead for musicians, he continues to pursue his dream. Now in his adult years, he resides just outside of Seattle in Bellevue, Washington where he can be found writing, recording and performing two enitirely different projects.
Being influenced by every aspect of life, albeit music, film, literature, photography, relationships, dreams and nature, he prides himself on creating a descriptive and colorful world of experience.
Whether it is love, pain, life, death or tribulation, he has a greater understanding that by writing his songs of experiences he will be revealing the contents of his own musical journal, thus, creating a manual for life.
Details about the album "Potential":
Being released quarterly, Potential is the first of a tetralogy and is also the first solo release of Torrey Musicant.
Feeling that the songs would fall on deaf ears being that the album is over an hour in it's entirety, Torrey Musicant decided to divide the album into fourths creating a comfortable intermission. Each album consists of 4 songs with an average running time of 15 minutes per album and can be played chronologically compleating the full length album experience. Upon collecting all four disks, the cover art will create a full size picture the same as original vinyl records.
Accompanying Torrey Musicant in the effort of recording and performing for the album were good friends, Dr. Mike Hsu and Daryl Fuentes.
A classicaly trained violinist, Dr. Mike Hsu, performed and recorded the violin contribution in Portland, OR, where it was then mixed and edited in post by Torrey Musicant back in Bellevue, WA. Extremely pleased with the contribution and very excited to announce, Dr. Mike Hsu will rejoin Torrey Musicant on future recordings.
Working closely on multipile projects with Torrey Musicant, Daryl Fuentes stepped outside of his element being an experienced rock and accomplished Jazz Drummer, he confidently applied his ability towards a more orchestrated and percussion based sound. Both enthusiastic about his collaboration, Daryl Fuentes will also return on the follow up albums.
Amazed, working with such caliber, Torrey Musicant will indubitably search to incorporate other brilliant and extraordinary musicians in conclusion to this four part series.
