“We’re off to Brunswick , Maine, a place that barely escaped being Canadian to listen to Dark Rain, a female fronted hard rock band. In their part of the world, they’ve opened shows for the likes of Zakk Wylde and White Lion, amongst others, but this is their turn in the spotlight. And it’s pretty good. It’s modern rock, but with a few hints of nineties metal in and around the guitars, which at least do me the courtesy of being high in the mix, a pet hate of mine in the world of modern rock. I shouldn’t have to shove me ears into a speaker to find the bloody guitar! The band are solid, and the vocals work well. They’ve also got a few good tunes under their belt, with the likes of ‘Get Ready’ and ‘Behind the Screen’ more than capable of getting a few radio plays under their belt. "Lightning Strikes sees the band hit thier stride and the classic rock based riffs and vocals work very well. Its in this space that the band really shine. Richards and Leavitt really push thier voices and the higher ranges feel like a much better fit for the tracks. Imagine a mix of Ann Wilson singing in Early Heart and Bon Scott singing together and you have a good idea how this song sounds."

Dark Rain is a high energy hybrid of Metal, rock and pop. The band boasts two lead voices, one male one female. They have been playing clubs all over New England. They play a variety of alternative venues as well from prestigious prep schools like Hyde School in Bath , Colleges,and motorcycle clubs. They have opened for many local heavyweights. As well as playing with national acts Saving Abel, Fuel, Crazy Town, Ted Nugent, Dope, Hed Pe, White Lion, Zakk Wylde, Sponge, members of Gwar and Kittie. They are equipped to do a strong set of original music or a full night of your favorite classic, modern rock and pop tunes, with a strong focus on 80s and 90s music.
Thier last cd “The Long Road Home”. can currently be heard on several local radio stations like WTOS, WBOR, and The Bone. Dark Rain can also be heard on 60,000 touch tunes jukeboxes across the United States. Their first Single “Get Ready” from their cd was a featured track on Supercuts “Rock the Cut” Advertisement campaign. They just released their cd on itunes, and have their music on Spotify, shazam and google play among others.
Dark Rain has a goal of expanding out of New England. Last year they completed their first two out of state tour runs since when they were first together playing as part of the New England leg of the Losing September Tour. The tour brought them to New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut..
They are currently recording thier upcoming new cd " Illusions End". with a tour to follow.
