"DJ Review"

Well, well, well! This has been worth the wait! I agree with your assessment of Kemikal's voice. I think you have a great talent on your hands who will go far. "Frienemy" can easily go 'anthem', and I foresee lighters and fingers in the air, as well as studio telephone lines lighting up for a puuuuuuuuul up! - Natasha Von Castle

"Thank you for an amazing evening!!"

We loved your act and so did the audience. It was great to have high energy performance in the space. I really enjoyed meeting the two of you. You are two are very YIN-YANG together, its awesome.

Jodie - MEZZANINE BAR HARTFORD

"Battle of the Bands"

"Its good to see real hip-hop alive and well. This group is real, original and has more stage energy than this venue can handle. The sax solos are crazy...it’s easy to tell these artists have considerable experience.”
- Alex Poulianos, University of Hartford,

"Battle of the Bands"

“ Creative fusion of jazz, funk, rock and hip hop
– very unique for today’s market...you guys

Bio

BIG NICKEL MUSIC was founded nearly 5 years ago, in a dorm room at the University of Hartford. The group started with two brothers who were doing music as a hobby, but now the group has grown to 8 members; the demand from the public needed to be supplied by real music, not gimmicks.

BIG NICKEL MUSIC artists consist of:
Kemikal
Chezza the King
C-Mil
Mister Miller
Sagacity the Chun-Tzu

Kemikal (Dancehall Artist):
In addition to working in the Hip Hop genre, Big Nickel Music Group produces Dancehall chunes and artists. Speaking of artists, they're introducing a new artist who is a cross between Vybz Kartel, Assassin and Baby Cham. There is a grit and grind in Kemikal's voice that Sound Man / Woman and listeneralike can relate to and want to hear more from.

Mister Miller:
The leader of Big Nickel Music and Co-Emcee of ELEMENT 28 - Ni, is making his way to being one of the most influential songwriters/producers to emerge in recent years. Also, he’s trying to make Big Nickel Music and Ni, one of the most sought after groups in hip hop and the industry. Mister Miller works hard at his craft to make sure everything is done at a level which is hard to obtain by anyone else.

Sagacity the Chun-Tzu:
Graduate of the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music, Dance and Theatre, the underground emcee has earned a respectable reputation for insightful lyrics and energetic performances. Publicly performing since high school, his college career was defined as the lead emcee in the bands Royal Ink and Urban Poets Society. If not performing or writing, he spends his time volunteering to better his community.

The Band:
Led by Rhashim Campbell (DJ/drums), the band is comprised of highly musically trained professionals, who are young and have the desire succeed. They have a few musicians that they can call band members, such as Ben Jencks (bass; from the Hartt School of Music), Damian Curtis (keys; from the famed Curtis Brothers), and Brandon Hodge (bass; played with Mary J Blige), to name a few. They are known to play with different band setups, and they usually rotate the band. Right now, band members can be seen throughout the Tristate area at clubs, bars, restaurants.
