Bio
Really Addictive Sound - or just R.A.S. or RAS (pronounce "rass"), is a new band of 4 hellions coming from various musical universes : rock, punk, funk, metal, fusion, etc... They've been performing at venues and stages in France and in Europe with their previous bands (Eths, Sikh, Babylon Pression, Straighten Things Out,...) which collectively sold over 50,000 albums, despite the music styles not really being "mainstream" (Eths is one of the top neo-metal bands in France).
With RAS, this style-mashup experience generates a powerful yet melodic fusion of funk and rock which, combined with their on-stage (and off-stage) antics, creates some unforgetable moments in their live performances...
Dry humor has always been part of RAS music and lyrics, starting with their own name "Really Addictive Sound". No place for teaching lessons here, but merely delivering of sometimes ridiculous, always deliriant stories...
INFLUENCES
It would be, as always, very restricting to only see one music style in RAS's compositions, but those who've been lucky enough to listen to their demos can’t help but talk about the similarities they hear in the music , including:
SUICIDAL TENDENCIES - INFECTIOUS GROOVES - 311 - SNOT - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - JAMES BROWN - LIVING COLOUR - RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - FISHBONE - PARLIAMENT - FUNKADELIC - DOG EAT DOG - FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS - EVERLAST or even.... FRANK ZAPPA !
This wide set of music genres IS what makes RAS identity: the identity of a group of musicians who have evolved in all these music styles and offer their own mix of it, with today's sounds.
The result ? A music that touches a wide range of listeners from rockers to punks to metal fans, down to the "under-50-years-old-housewives" !
RAS's first album release is due in September, as well as a couple of video clips which, as you can imagine, will be as delirious as their songs, thus likely to be on YouTube or other web communities very soon as well...
