Brooklyn brother-sister duo Paperwhite is out with the new synth-pop track "Take Me Back," and Canadian producer Ryan Hemswroth has shared a new team-up with Brisbane-based UV Boi.
Katie and Ben Marshall of Paperwhite began attracting attention early this year with debut single "Got Me Goin," followed in May by their second offering, "Magic."
New track "Take Me Back," says Kick Kick Snare, "conjures up the best parts of the 80′s and combines them into a modern Electronic Pop heavy jam that you will want to have on repeat all summer."
"'Take Me Back' is filled with hazy pop hooks and shimmering synths that fans of bands like M83 will adore, and Katie Marshall's sweet vocals make it a perfect addition to your summer playlist," says Pigeons and Planes.

There’s certainly no dearth of pop duos these days but every now and then, one comes along that cuts through the noise with athletic ease. Enter Paperwhite. Featuring Savoir Adore‘s very own Ben Marshall and his sister Katie, the Brooklyn siblings have all the makings of a fully-realized outfit. Their debut single “Got Me Goin” is glittery new wave at its most radiant and sounds like Chairlift studying abroad at the School of Seven Bells. Get going below and be sure to keep a keen eye on these two in the weeks and months to come. - Neon Gold
No offense to the Partridges, but family bands haven't exactly had the best reputation. But thanks to a new crew of seriously talented siblings like Haim, Broods, and Bleached, those childhood memories of living room jam suddenly got a whole lot cooler (and not only because they ditched the flare pants and awkward collared shirts....).
Get ready to add one more to the ever-expanding list of musical relatives, because the duo Paperwhite are about to take over. Brooklyn siblings Katie and Ben Marshall first crossed our radar when their airy debut single "Got Me Goin" hit the internet a few months ago.
They've been working on sharpening their hazy pop sound ever since, and this glimmer shines even brighter in their new release "Magic." Overflowing with hypnotic beats, soaring synths, and an intro that'll force you to start "ooohing" immediately, this track is so light and gorgeous, you just might drift way.

It’s never a bad time for a 20-minute blast of lush, breathy, and supremely tuneful synth-pop, and that’s what New York brother-sister duo Paperwhite have delivered with their debut EP, Magic. There’s nothing particularly new or earth-shattering in the six songs contained here, but the lack of innovation is easily made up for with the surfeit of bubbling hooks, the impossibly airy and pristine production, and the walloping rush of the choruses. If you’re the sort of person that thinks that Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” was the pinnacle of ’80s pop music — which it kinda was — you’re going to love this EP.
Listen to the whole thing below, and float away your Friday on those billowy dream-pop clouds. - Spin

Paperwhite, brother sister Katie and Ben Marshall are a Dream-Pop duo from Brooklyn, NY. Katie is the singer and songwriter of the band. Her sophisticated melodies bounce from star to star in a lush galaxy of synthesized textures. Ben, also the drummer for Brooklyn band Savoir Adore, is the producer and co-writer. They’re nostalgic synth riffs shimmer above heart felt chord changes and hypnotic pounding drums. With four singles to date, and a debut EP “Magic" they've had nothing but enormous love from the blogosphere. Receiving the Hypem title "Most Blogged Artist” twice in a row, Paperwhite is a band worth keeping an eye on.
