Bio

Hailed as one of the "Top 5 Up & Coming Solo Artists" by Music Connection Magazine, singer/songwriter Alex Davis ignites indie rock with guitar-driven versatility and an arresting sound. His songwriting has been compared to Elliott Smith's poignant lyricism, while recalling the incisive emotionalism of Kurt Cobain and melodic wit of the Wayne Coyne.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Alex has been writing music and performing since childhood. He's a new regular on the LA music scene, performing at noteworthy venues including The Key Club, The Knitting Factory, and Highways Performance Space. Alex's rock anthem "Stop" was featured in the 2007 indie black comedy Holding Trevor.

Now, Alex is taking his talents to new levels with an inter-disciplinary performance piece. His stage show, ALEX DAVIS: MAN OF THE YEAR, incorporates original music performed with a full band, video and spoken narrative in a moving and humor- filled drama based on his childhood as the son of Golden-Globe winning actor, Brad Davis, and his life as a transman. Alex's performance of his show at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn in February, 2011, produced by Ruth and Stephen Hendel, was rated #1 in Time Out's "Critics' Picks" and #5 on the Advocate's "Hot Sheet". His sophomore EP, Man ofthe Year, was released in May 2010 to wide acclaim. He's currently working on his highly anticipated forthcoming album, the complete soundtrack to his show, ALEX DAVIS: MAN OF THE YEAR.
